Hmm, Jaxom I have disagree with you somewhat. It doesn't take more skill to get to the top than it takes to beat a Maso consistently, true, the only caveat is that for some of us beating the Maso is actually hard (at least for now). Having said that. :CONGRAT: :CONGRAT: :CONGRAT: :CONGRAT: Your dedicaton and skill is an inspiration to us plebians.

I think that is true for most difficulties. Sirian pointed out in another thread that Medium is less forgiving of mistakes. I find that to be quite accurate at most difficulties (I've played). Tiny/Small doesn't give the AI enough of an edge, while on Large/Huge/Gig you have more time before you see the enemy and therefore more time to expand and consolidate. On medium they both out-colonize you unless you get lucky and are in your face quickly... Yupp, I still haven't submitted a loss, most
Thanks, just read the procedural message. Sweet and concise, just what I needed. And yupp I hope Zed plays first.
Hmm... Quick Q. Is there a thread with posting procedures for SGs? I.e. where and how to upload the game and to link correctly. It doesn't help me much if it's in the G thread...
Ok, sent. If there any problems I'll be back on computer within a couple of hours.
Thanks Cari, Ran into a CTD when launching a Battleship for the first time. No waypoints saved. Do you want the save and debugg.err? The autosave should be within one or two turns of the crash as I have the autosave on 2 turns. Hmm, on a personal note I've been seeing significantly more CTDs as I up the difficulty. All my CTDs have been on above Normal difficulty. [Message Edited]
*S* It's what got me interested in RB. I loved that write-up.
Submission Problems, Yupp, got myself one of these as well. Submitted the game, the messages said everything was fine. Doesn't show up. Not much I can do about that. Only change in my settings are mods and only those that are available on this site. Could that do it?
If you guys don't mind I'd like to join a team... any team is good. Although I'm probably best off on the E or N teams. While we are waiting for the teams to form I'll up my difficulty and see hoe that goes. [Message Edited]
Destabilization rarely is the cause of war. Hmmm... can't speak for Crip/Maso though.
Nods to Jaxom's comment on Planescape. It really has both depth and breadth. I'll replay it just to re-read the story as I go along.
To get us back on page one... Working on a gigantic painful... and oh my is it painful... *sigh* Any suggestions on how to get ot the end of this size map quickly...
Again thank you Cari - it was the lack of a bonus pack that was the issue. Me very foolish.
Wow! Thank you for the fast response. I will check as soon as I get out of class. If I could figure out how to do the worship smiley I would use it right now. :) [Message Edited]
Cari: There is no Excalibur tech in my .tech file (only have one) - gctech.tech in my data directory. I'm playing the 1.13 version without the UP fix (because I'm lazy). As a side note - I ran into the making decisions after loading problem. In this case it is unfortunately connected to the recalculation of culture after reloading a game. Some of my starbases are sitting in what are alien controlled sectors prior to the proper (re)calcualtion - causing repeated deman
Wanted fix: When you have multiple survey ships on auto they often end up going to the same spot, thus being horribly inefficient. Is there any way to fix this? Manually searching on large+ maps is brutal.
A problem and a possible bug: The problem or exploit: The Draginol will happily trade away 150K for 1 trade good. This was rather silly. This has probably been reported previously, but I figured it deserved another mention. The possible bug: The Excalibur tech has disappeared. In my last two games on reaching Near omnipotence I do not get the option to research Excalibur tech. As far as I can tell the Excalibur is not an alignment based tech so I should be able to research
Quick Q What does it take to kick your Metaverse score over 20K. I know I won't be going to Maso soon, but I've set an interim goal at 20K. My last game at Painful was a big jump for me and without the cheese Diplo picks it would have been alot harder, possibly a loss.
Thanks again. I noted that smarter AIs (I played my last game with mixed AI Intelligence) tend to pay significantly less as well and be more reluctant about buying. Btw. Ben got it right, I was asking about the FLAG sensitivity, the Maso bit, I've picked up on from reading around. The reason for asking that is that I still have a couple of stages before I even start thinking about Maso, and need to know if I need to be more careful as I move up in difficulty. Vincible - I think the w
Thanks Ben for your answer - as a follow up: I ran into the huge cash flow in my last two games, but not the anomalous flag... does it change with difficulty level? I.e. the higher the difficulty the less tolerant of the exploit?
Sirian - You mentioned (by implication) over in the canuck thread that overselling techs can lead to bad scores, or even zeroes. What is the mechanic for this, and what is "too much".
Missing "Technology Summary" for Xeno Propaganda: When the droid comes up to show the new tech Xeno Propaganda has no text beyond the tirle in the box to the right on the screen. This is also missing on the tech screen.
You may want to look at Theoden's argument again. Adding trade modules to existing SBs is probably the way to go. This ensures that you get extra income when trade vessels pass through, but at the same time keeps upkeep down. Your argument does not consider the downstream, as income increases from the age of the route, which alters the calculations. As a side note, it is very likely that your game will end before your ships ever make a second pass through the se
Thank you, I'm looking forward to contributing as best as I can, and getting more out of my gaming experience by pushing myself and playing by RB rules as they, for me, are ones that I feel make the game much more interesting and enjoyable. Jaxom: Is sitting on Pirates inherently bad? I figure if you use two (make sure they aren't bleeding too badly) for cushions they should make comfortable chairs?
The next one will hopefully make it. Keep up the good work moose (I just couldn't tag on the da, sorry). Still working on getting my first 10K game myself. [Message Edited]
