J.T.Qwerk:
Please install SmartException and have it running when you play Gal Civ. This generates a file called GalCiv.exe.cra when Gal Civ crashes, and you can send that file to me the next time you get a crash. In the meantime, please send me your save games that can reproduce the crashes. I need both the .sav file and the corresponding folder.
Lord J: also, if you put them in the mods folder and did not move your current tech files out of the data folder, you may be having problems because of the higher tech ID numbers in the original files.
WalkerintheMist: can you find the exalibur tech in any of your .tech files?
(6) I had a survey ship (not a Star Hawk) with 16 attack. I did have Star Hawk researched, but I didn't expect it to upgrade an existing survey ship. (Note the survey ship was built during the game; the original one had been destroyed.) Very convenient for killing space sharks though.

Survey ships can explore anomalies that give them bonuses to attack and defense. These bonuses apply only to that ship, and not to any others in a fleet with it.
I seem to remember someone reporting that moving the window when playing the game in windowed mode messed up the mouse cursor. It doesn't do this on my laptop, so I don't know if I fixed it or if it's just scared of me.
Anyway, if you could confirm if you're running windowed or fullscreen, I'd appreciate it.
On a few occasions I've clicked "turn" to start the next turn and nothing happens. I can still operate the controls and move through the various screens, but the AI doesn't move. Reloading doesn't help, quitting and reloading does. (One time I managed to shake it loose, but I can't remember how.)

It may be waiting for one of your ships to do something. If you have a ship selected, try moving it to see if it's expended all of its move points. Or it may be waiting for a colony ship who is trying to colonize a planet on its last move of autopilot.
1,3, 12, and possibly 19 have been fixed on our end and will be fixed in the next update.
Scott, are you playing windowed? Have you recently installed or upgraded any media player programs or updated your sound or video drivers? If you haven't upgraded or installed any media player programs recently, which ones do you have installed? Please e-mail me your dxdiag report along with the answers to these questions.
Hurley, I've got a couple of your scores in the database showing up with your Gal Civ serial number instead of the drengin.net one. You may want to go to the metaverse page and follow the instructions for converting your scores, then remove the old serial number from your registry. (Note: it is ALWAYS a good idea to backup your registry before making ANY changes.)
When you have multiple survey ships on auto they often end up going to the same spot, thus being horribly inefficient. Is there any way to fix this? Manually searching on large+ maps is brutal.

Yes, there is, but I haven't found an efficient way to do it. I started to fix this once, but it was slow. So it's on the back burner for awhile.
Any chance someone would be willing to type up a sort of "digest" just of the important info from this thread which new 1.13 users might need to know?
End of quote
With the next update, when I make a new thread for bug reports, I'm going to link to a copy of my bug report spreadsheet so that you guys can search it. But I have to get it under control first; there's a lot of redundant entries or stuff that I fixed but forgot to take off. In the meantime, go ahead and just report it.
