I'd just like to add, I'm not going out of my way to find these odd bits of behaviour. They're finding me. I really do like the game, and if I can help exorcise these gotchas from the code, so much the better.

Here's another one: - start a new game - click Done on the research screen and on the planet screen, so that you're looking at the map - click on the Research button - press the Esc key to call up the Options menu - click Main Menu - click New Game At this point, you're looking at the map screen of your existing game. The map will not be scrollable. - press Esc twice. You're now in the setting

First of all, I want to say: The game looks great. I can't wait to play some more. Before I dash off to work, here are some minor issues I'd like the development team to consider: - Should ownership appear in unrevealed parts of the galactic mini-map? It does now, which seems a bit odd, and defeats one of the purposes of exploration: Finding where your opponents are. - Tool tips don't appear if you hold the mouse st

Here's a series of steps to reproduce the problem easily: - create and save a tiny hull design with no other components - build one of these, purchase the ship so it will appear the next turn - click on the Turn button - you'll see a GNN message, announcing the ship's construction. Click on the Go To button - click on Shipyard - select the tiny ship design - click on Delete - click on Delete again - click on Done - dismiss the GNN message

I went to delete a ship design that I'd made in a previous game. So I went to the Shipyard screen and clicked on Delete. Then I realized that I'd tried to delete the colony ship design, so I clicked on my custom design and then on Delete. Nothing happened. So I clicked on Delete again. Nothing. Then I clicked on Obsolete, which at least made the design disappear from the list. Then I clicked Done. Leaving that screen, I got a GNN repo

Hello, everyone. I preordered the download version and pulled down the archives last week. Now that the full game has been released, I'd like to know how to get at the tutorials. When I 'restore from archive', I see files end up in SDCentral's temp directory, but I don't see anything going into the GalCiv 2's installation directory. Any clues?

Yeah, not bad. Like I said, I figure this will only cost me an extra ten bucks compared with buying it from the store. The main reason I didn't go with the direct order from Stardock is that I don't know who they use for shipping, and I didn't see a "download only, keep the CD" option that would save all those cross-border expenses.

You're not reading what I wrote. That's inclusive... and more in the range of CAD 85 or 86 after exchange. Go here if you don't believe me: http://www.ebgames.com/ebx/help/shippingChart.asp#canadachart1 To quote: "IMPORTANT: You will not be charged G.S.T., P.S.T. or duty charges for shipments to Canada. We will pay these on your behalf. Please add processing time to delivery time to determine estimated arrival. EBgames.com does not ship, nor are deliveries made on

Yeah, it seems to be EB's problem... and I'd be very surprised if we see GalCiv in Canadian EB stores before next week, given the information in the email you posted above. On that basis, I've ordered the game directly from the U.S. EB web site. I figure it will cost me about CAD 10.00 more after exchange and shipping, but at least I have a good chance of getting a boxed copy by Thursday this way.

Last week, their computer said the 27th, this Thursday. As of tonight, the date was pushed out two weeks! I find this very hard to believe, given that their main web site in the U.S. shows it shipping, and the fact that Strategy First is based in Montréal. If anything, Canadian stores should get it sooner, rather than later, since the usual Customs B.S. is bypassed. Did I read somewhere that Future Shop will also carry it here? If EB screws up here, I'm not planning to wait until th
