Thst is very interesting. I think it’s doable.
Well, one has to have the latest and greatest to play this game, then there is going to be a very low sales rate. Good luck.
There is a spectrum between latest and 8 year old hardware. There are plenty of td games that will play on very low end hardware. We wanted to make one that took advantage of improvements in hardware.
The current plan is to have a free player app for iOS and Android but not until after the maker is done. ;)
The Survival mode game is the second option on the screen. :) How in depth it gets depends on a lot of factors (player demand, scope, time, budget, etc.).
The green area is where you can place a tower. The challenge is making this visible to the player in a way that is visually pleasing.
It’s on the list. Just didn’t make it in yet.
The maps get bigger as you go along. We start out small to get players used to the basics. We also felt, at the start, that we needed to get the mini map in before we went much bigger.
Motion to keep pause passed. :)
Did a nerf today to Corrupted healers. Heck, the next update is going to feel like a different game thanks to you guys! Seriously, you guys I think are going to be shocked by how quickly we were able to implement your feedback.
Just a thought on the value proposition and how I came to my perspective. For me, the gold standard Tower Defense game on Steam is Gemcraft: Chasing Shadows (a $10 game). It has close to 200 maps, a very rich leveling system, crafting system, and achievement system. Looking at my play time on that game I've gotten over 200 hours of play on it over the last couple of years. That was $10 well spent! I don't expect that much from ever
This is so cool! One of the XML files does govern this data quite a bit I believe too.
Thanks for posting this!
Great feedback. This last week's update (I think it's public) puts +'s when they're collecting resources.
In the current iteration here are the things that I see as different from other TD games I've played: Multiple defense points. You not only have to defend your base but also your metal generators. This seems to have some nice map creation options where you can have a large flow of metal at the start to help get the initial build done, but then threaten it later. It seems like being able to build/rebuild mines could be an option.<br
One thing I am starting to see emerge from play-testing and design work is the idea of combos. Putting the right buildings in the same area to get the desired effect.
Should be up now.
Right now, when I play, I hit spacebar (which pauses the game) before I do anything. Which does make it a looott easier. We'll have to make sure everyone knows to do that otherwise they'll get frustrtated -- assuming we have unlimited pauses.
Before Early Access this game has to answer a key question. We would like your input on this if we don't have a good answer, helping us make sure we implement such an answer. QUESTION: What does this bring to the Tower Defense genre? If I already have, and like, Defense Grid or Bloons or whatever, what does this game do for me? We have our own thoughts on this but since you are just getting into the game, how would you describe what we're doing to others who
We need your help on the most important issue in human history... Pause. Right now, you can pause and place towers by hitting spacebar. This makes it easy to sit back and strategically place your towers at your leisure. And there's nothing wrong with that. But it does make the game very different from a pacing point of view. Fundamentally, it boils down to what kind of game is this? Do we want to reward quick thinking OR strategic mastery? T
It looks like one or more of your modded ships is causing an issue. Suggestion, for now: Go to documents\my games\ and rename the gc3crusade folder to something else and restart.
We are thinking of having something like that for endless mode.
Great stuff. Not sure if Kael mentioned but yea, there's going to be VO. Callum originally had test VO in but I asked it to be taken out (he's not a bad VO guy but it was stand-in and we didn't want anyone to think that was the real VO).
Spacebar pauses the game.
If I wasn't autistic, I'd hug you! Thanks for this!
