Stargate Invasion is a total conversion mod for Sins of a Solar Empire: Entrenchment and Diplomacy . As of this time, there is no FINAL release date yet for this mod.

  

 

The mod will be built in 2 halves.  The first is the Pegasus side, I.E. Humans, Wraith and Asurans, with the Pirates being a classified race at the moment.  The second part of the mod, will add in the Asgard and Goa'uld races to the mix, we will even be creating a separate version of the mod as well, which will just be Humans, Asgard and Goa'uld, with the Lucien Alliance as the Pirates for that half.

You forgot the "Ancients" and the Asruran ships are bigger, also you should make atlantis as a capital ship, and the puddle jumpers should be equal as scouts, and the ancients defence satelites. Also dont forget the Goaul'd

How can you say we forgot that the Asuran Ships are bigger? we know how big they are in relation to other Cannon Stargate Ships.

the Atlantis Class City Ship is going to be a capital ship for the Asurans, and it is going to cost a lot so you cannot build to many of them. Jumpers are fighters, we have a mesh already ingame and they are good where they are. They cannot jump to hyperspace because they normally dont have a hyperdrive generator.

what about planet phasing? i know i posted this before but i really do like that scene in SG1 where all the Ori ships shoot at Earth but it goes straight through and the cost of all available energy on the planet

I like the idea as well Prometheus, but I think that instead of it being a limited time thing you could put the planet out of phase at a huge cost to metal and crystal income and you can activate it/deactivate it when you wish, just a thought though; that might end up overpowered.


Anyways, the original reason why I came to this thread. ;p

I've been working on the banner a bit and I tried a few different techniques (had all day so I figured I'd mess around a bit). After reading what you said about the A's I nearly punched myself in the head for forgetting the Earth symbol as two of the A's. It was actually in my original plan, but after I started working on the thing I completely forgot about it. Anyways, I changed the A's and added a little touch-up to the tech brushes to give them more definition. Here it is:


Thing is though, I also decided to try a few new techniques I learned and give a go at another, improved version. I personally prefer the new one infinitely over the older version, but I'll let you make your own opinion obviously. Here 'tis:


Now I can still change up stuff on either of the banners and you can use the one you like the most. I was thinking if you still preferred the first I could move the text over there, or change the background; they're all still in their original PSD files with 18 and 25 layers respectively ;p so I can change em' up or transfer bits over quite easily.

Lemme' know if ya' want anything changed or if there's anything else I can do for ya'.

I know my opinion counts for zero here but.....

I prefer the second one. The background is okay, however the way the mod title is arranged is just like Stargate Atlantis's title in the opening of the episodes, which I like.

I agree. I like the second a lot more than the first. The only thing I would change is to add the Gate symbols into the upper left hand corner like in image 1.

The likelyhood of it being done anytime soon is slim, as is a beta. We are working hard, but are still awaiting the 1.1 patch to do explosion stuff. Each TC takes time, cause you have models, textures, programing and balancing for each ship then each race.

Anything that is cannon from the show will be showing up in the mod, plus fan made designs as well.

On a model note, yesterday I finished up the 302 fighter, rather the one that we will be using in the final version of the mod.

Now that you got a rough image for the F-302s, are you guys going to cook up an X-303 for bombing?


Side note: Puddle jumpers can not be used as scout ships: They have no hyperdrive. Could this be researched in the tech tree? Who knows.

the FF-303 will be a Frigate, not a bomber. As it stands, the 302 will be the fighter, and another, more advanced version of the 302 will be the bomber. For the Jumpers, like I said before, they will be fighters/bombers for the Asurans, as they are small, no hyperdrive, but do carry a good amount of firepower.

Eomega, I just finished watching the first few episodes of season 2 of Stargate Atlantis. I wanted to play this mod before, however, after watching the Daedalus fight all those Wraith hiveships and beam those nukes aboard (will that be in the mod?) and the railguns, and the Wraith plasma, it gives a feeling of awesome nothing else has for a while.

Finish this mod and make it good! I want to take the Daedalus against some hive ships soon.

Cloaking will only be in the mod if the developers release some of the restrictions caused by the hard-coding. Currently, the modifier that puts a ship out of phase (cloak) brings the bad with the good. You can't be detected, but at the same time, you can't move, fire weapons, anything. You can only sit there cloaked, so this type of cloaking engine would not fit in with the SG universe.

Beaming nukes is already in game. It has a super-long cooldown and uses nearly all of the antimatter of the 304, but it is an instant kill on all ships. We are still debating, though, whether to keep it in game if we can't code a counter-ability for the Wraith and Asurans that would block the 'Nuking Aboard.' (Similar to the jamming code the Wraith create later in the SGA seasons.) And if you want the mod to be good, the best thing to do is be patient. We're doing our best to create a high-quality mod.

I wouldnt make it a one hit kill for all ships maybe a one hit kill for below lvl five capitals and other ships but super strong capitals maybe it should just take away like 95/100 of there health

I disagree. The nuke is being beamed straight into their engine rooms and/or hangar. The regular nuke explosion would be enough to destroy the ship. But the chain explosions caused by the fuel throughout the ship would be more than enough to destroy the ship. That's also why you see the Daedalus targeting Hive ship Hangar bays.
