IconPackager worked fine before, it changed every icon on my system. But now with Litestep running, it's pretty much useless.

I'm running XP Pro SP1, but that's beside the point. If I were going to hack anything, I know how to go about it. I've done it before for various icons and the bar in IE6. But I'd rather not do that if I don't have to.

Actually, it's only working on the main desktop icons such as "My Computer, My Network Places" etc.. but doesn't seem to be working on the rest of the system. *shrug* oh well. I guess if I want to use Litestep I'll have to deal with the problems that come along with it.

moshi, I was refering to what Jafo had said. I do know what resource hacking is. I was just hoping that I wouldn't have to edit anything. I have resource hacker, hex editor, and exescope for that. Should I need anything else?

Manually assigning the icons doesn't work either. I don't have any icons on my desktop, but I'd like to be able to change them in my windows explorer (the folders icons, etc) but thanks anyway.

I just recently started using Litestep OTS2 and now I can't get IconPackager to change my system icons. I'm guessing this is because explorer.exe isn't running as the shell? Is there a solution to this? Thanks.

DesignCaddy, That's exactly what I'd like to do. I totally understand the family enviornment of the community and I'd like to turn it around and try to mend what damage I've done and be more of a friendly, productive aspect in the community. I'm going to tell everyone exactly why I don't like a lot of the work here. The reason I started skinning and playing around with the Windows XP GUI was to change the original commercial look of everything and give it something thats worth looking at. A lot of what I see on here is going along the same lines as what Windows XP originally looked like. Too bubbly and commercialized.. In my opinion, I wouldn't put most of pixtudio's work on my desktop if someone paid me to do it. It's too much. Take a look at the work "Zippo" and please, don't tell me it's not over-saturing and lacking contrast. This is my point. The reason these people are getting hired by companies for graphic design work is because of the lack of originality to choose from.

I've created objects to replace my taskbar, start menu and clock. I was wondering if I need to code a script in order to display the currently running programs like the normal windows taskbar does, or if there's a plugin for doing that?

Do you guys know how, in DesktopX2.10 to create an object that shows the programs running currently in the taskbar, like it does on the normal windows taskbar. Do I need to use the object bar plugin for that?

BTW, Why is it I can't my watch on a thread? When I click the watch button (X'd out) it brings me to a page that 'cannot be displayed.' Anyone else having this problem?

grayhaze, I don't know what your themes look like, nor do I care. But if you 'do' have glossy/bubbly/over saturated themes then maybe you should reconsider your technique in skinning and design. That's just my opinion and opinions are like skins, everyones got some. Some not as appealing as others. Thanks for your input tho, Sir grayhaze.

Yea, I really like that program. I'm starting to mess with DesktopX2.10 and I'm creating new objects, but I have no idea where to start. Are there any tutorial's that I could look over to get an idea of what does what?
