The F3 can be useful. Clicking on the little arrow to the right of a ship's icon in the F3 screen gives the ship orders to move to the centre of the main screen as currently viewed. So if you know where you want all your battleships (say) to be, but you don't want to faff about finding them all, just 1) Centre the screen where you want them to go, and 2) Bring up the F3 and click on the battleships' "move" arrows. I've found it very convenient BUT it does seem to empty transpo

Interstellar: did you by any chance give the colony ship a move order from the "ships" (F3) screen? I've noticed that doing this with transports empties them, even if they're full and in space. Maybe it's the same with colony ships.
I know what you mean. All that "click-Esc-click"-ing can get annoying. Still, you've got to hand it to Stardock. Rally points do make starbase building a lot less laborious.

You know how clicking on the little arrow to the right of a ships icon in the ships screen causes it to move to the centre of the part of the map currently showing on the screen? Well, doing this with transports seems to empty them. You load 'em up, send them on their way, but if you change their move orders from the ships screen while they're in space, they'll arrive empty.
You have to place Rally Points before you can use them. There's a little blue icon at the top of the main screen in the shape of a downward pointing arrow. It's just next to the button that gives you a breakdown of sector influence. Click on the blue arrow icon and the cursor will change to a rally point marker; click on the map to place it. Once you've placed at least one rally point, go to the planet screen. There's a "set rally point" button in the middle, at the bottom. Now when you cl

A figure appears at DA's shoulder on DARK EVE's bridge. "A moment, Excellence?" "What is it, de Vros?" The figure proffers an information chip, which gleams prismatically for moment. DA glides it into his wrist console with practised ease. A schematic appears before them on the bridge. "It is a map of the decision nodes on a Mentor class Yor Command droid. Ah! That fits much better with my idea of how humans are. Thank you, vincible!
didn't that have something to do with their surrender in WW2
Japan was totally demilitarised in 1945, and remained under US administration until 1952. Don't know what's happened since then. I came across these lyrics to a popular Japanese song of the 1880s: "There is a Law of Nations, it is true, /but when the moment comes, remember,/the Strong eat up the Weak." I guess that nineteenth century Japanese would have had no doubts about galciv's political m

Dark Assassin: a word with you, sir. I have been asked to represent certain, ah, influential personages in the matter of the proposed "Black Faction". They wish me to assure you that they understand the need for firm leadership and clear understanding at this time. They further recognise that such leadership must be of a clandestine nature. What is at stake is nothing less than the destiny of mankind. Such a matter is far too important to be left in the hands of mere politicians,
Damn, you people are good! Thank you, Obi Wan, you were so quick I was still editing my first message. Any thoughts on the updated problem?
There I was, happily building forces for the big push against the last enemy race (the Altarians). I had a Death Star within two moves of their main planet, all was proceeding according to plan. Suddenly, BAM! Alliance victory. Not so much as a "by your leave". I was not allied with these guys, and we'd been the only two left in the galaxy for some time. What gives? Edit: Now this is odd. I've just checked the Endgamesave again and I'm showing up as allied on the Diplomacy screen.
Thanks for the feedback, citahellion! It's a small enough problem, I suppose. But when the transports don't have a movement point spare to step aside from their warship escorts on that crucial planetary assault... Grrr!
Is there a way of selecting multiple ships within a fleet, or multiple ships from orbit? Can't seem to find a post on the subject, but you seem to be a friendly lot...
