I guess we won't be able to mine planets and asteriods without having to colonize a planet :sniff!: No carriers or any other new ships :sniff!: Well - it was only a wish list!

Sorry about saying the same thing over guys, I thought it did post, that's why its up twice ( sorry about that).
What about being able to switch between a galaxtic map and system map! we could be able to explore other galxicies that contain unknow civs! Civs we know nothing about until encountered. If there were a sense of mystery concerning the encountering BOTH unknown civs galaxies -it would provide a sence of danger, excitement and thrill to explorations. Again, instead of the UPC already being develop - It would be nice if it could be developed during the pocess of play by earth once it becomes the he
I know that I have said quite a bit about what I would like to see, well here is a little more! If we could switch between a galaxy map and a system map: we could explore other galaxies and encounter unknown civs, some hostile while others are not, and some that even at war with one another and would stop because their would have scaned our ship which is from another galaxy. Civs that we would have to designate names for - expecially if we encounter then in a prelude to their invasion of our gal

You guy are probably right, but for this to happen all the time, I don't think so, and besides - we were basically equal in tech - I still don't see that it should be possible! Further more - Five battle Cruiser against one Dread should make the dread sweat even if it does come out on top - unless they are much more advanced! As far as the pheonix goes, that's got me stump! As good as this game is - I guess it makes me look for those things that make me say "OH NO!" and not "What - that's not ri
I stated this before, but I think I placed it the wrong place! Nonetheless, I have a question - If the dreadnaught is dreaded in battle, how on earth can a pheonix (whose specs are lower than the dread) defeat a dread? I've been noticing that the less powerful ships can defeat ships that are much more powerful! Also - how can one ship defeat an entire fleet of less powerful ships. Example. I had five battle cruiser against a Drengin Dreadnaught, and I lost that battle, and I can't understand tha
If the dreadnaught is so dread and fearful, why on earth can a pheonix, whose specs are apparently lower than a dread, defeat a dread that's fresh our of construction? I'm beginning to find that Lesser ship appear able to defeat more powerful ships, and ships that come together to form a fleet against a more powerful ship are still defeated. If I have five battle cruisers against a drengin dreadnaught - how on earth can my five cruisers lose to that one ship? That's not pretty realistic. Wh
When you invade a planet whose population is in the millions, the present options are nice, but come-on, Even in our day we can destroy the population with little damage the surrounding cities. I'm not trying to compare any game to this one, but SEIV had planetary bombardment, and weapons you could choose to do the job. I personally think that Galciv stomps SEIV, but SEIV had commondities that were nice, and would be much nicer in this game. I should be able to dessimate the surface of a planet
Ail.St - I hear you saying what you don't use, but I'm telling you - I had no choice. I was pulling everything out of every corner to prevent myself from being destroyed. The ai I was struggling against had allied with two smaller civ, and they declaired war against me also (which I think was great), But "WOW!" The struggle to stay a-float became my primary concern! I know this is nothing but a game - but it is very emersive, I was worried throughout the entire struggle. I gained the upper hand
I will admit that this is one of the best games I've played in a long time, but bombader ships are need bad. Why, because one will drain his own empire of people, trying to invaded other worlds, especially when the ai civ gang up on you. I just finshed a hugh war against the arcains and their allies, man I'm telling you, I drained entire systems down to 96 people. seven of the arcain systems had millions!!! This other stuff thats their before invasion is nice, but planetary bombarment will cut t
If you modify a ship in galciv, will every race get that modification, and is there anyway to modify the human race in galcic without modifying others
If a ship is modified (say the battle crusier) does every other civ gets that same modification
Is there anyway to modify a race of choice in Galciv?
There are two things in this world that makes a guy loose his mine 1) when he can't keep his woman, and 2) when he can't keep his money! Man - How on earth to I keep some money in this game. I keep my pop over the 50% morale leval, but it doesn't make a different, I continue loosing money! I build happy places and all that other stuff, but I can't make enough money to even defend the planets I'm able to get! The AI civ be grabbin up the planets, so I thught I should get as many as I can as fast
What I would like to see in the expasion is 1) much larger maps 2) stystems combined into galacies, and if (and when) a ship enters a galaxy tuns of systems are then seen 3) zoom in and out on the main screen and not just the mini map 4) Attack Carriers - that can launch and attack planets, ships, fleets etc, thus being able to build carrier fleets, which would make them vital to find and destroy. 5) the ability to mine planets and ateroids for the vital resources need t
What I would like to see in the expansion pack is 1) Much larger maps 2) systems made into galaxies. When a fleet, ship or colony vessal enters the galaxy, the systems are then revealed. 3) The ability to mine planets and asteroids for vital resources. 4) Planet & asteroid information: finding the resourses we need to mine 5) Attack Carriers - so we can have carriers fleets 4) Fleet management 5) Strategic sectors that become vital to take and hold because of res
I think it would be nice to have in the expansion A) Minning crews that can mine uninhabitable planets and asteroids for vital resources. B) Sector control - empires should be able to control specfic sectors, and that sector identifies which empire has control. Entering the sector without permission from the controling empire would constitute and act of war. C)Fleet management D) Carriers that could move large amounts of fighters to combat areas or areas of vital importance.
Live Long and prosper - Galciv!!!!!!!!
Not since I did what pluctark instructed. I haven't yet, but I don't know if it will continue to work properly, but I looking for the best anyway. I think it will be just fine now. I didn't know that I could turn of cultural, that's nice to know! I wanted to see what the other civs were doing before war broke out between me and another civ. I was highly advanced, but there was one that was greater, and when I knew anything - it said I was culturally defeated and the game ended. before that thoug
:D You know you got it right Wampyre LOL
Plutarck - Thanks very much! I did like you said, and for the first time since I bought the game I was able to complete an entire game. the idea worked (or at least it looks like it did). Anyway I am most grateful for your help in the matter. However, I expected to loose the game, and I did, but a culture loss? MMMM! I don't like that at all. To loose by culteral defeat and not by military defeat took mush of the fun out for me. Maybe because I don't (yet) know what I'm doing. But I prefer to fi
I'm not the all around computer wiz that you are, so I don't doubt what your saying, and I do believe you because I have changed a few things about this one. I did what Plutarck told me, now I'm going to see what if that wll work for me. Anyway "THANKS GUYS!" :d
There is nothing wrong with my system!!!! The system is brand new, but anyway you want to put it, I'm have a problem! I will say - thanks for the compassion! That, and all that everyone else said and trid to do to help, made me really feel like the producers will try to help if they can, and that is what every gamer needs - just a little help! I'm hurt because I can't never get to finish a game, but I will keep trying. Maybe if I return the disk and get another maybe that will help, and if that
Not only do I have trouble with my turn button, but now this game is crashing on me unexpectedly. and then when I click restore last civ, my tech screen in completely blank, and if I click done, I come up with a red window. Honestly, I don't know what to do about this. I really like this game, but it appears I'm having a little more trouble with the game than I need.
