Not that I have any idea how it works,( or whats entailed) but the svn updater is great. Right click, choose update, click ok. your done. Update to the latest version, even multiple times daily.

probably never, that another game i'm bored with. let me add that to my current number of games i will probably never play touch again. right now i'm stuck in limbo, waiting on COV to release the leagues, waiting on STO for updates that should have been there ages ago, waiting on DA2 DLC's and mods since i finished the game. 

My mod time is being taken up by my need of learning Visual Basic so i can get certified eventually.

dropbox is the next logical choice, its actually better than livesync from what i have seen so far.

Still skeptical about STO. If there is a trial ill check it out, but i seriously doubt it will satisfy the trek geek in me. Perhaps too biased about it.

DA2... Hmmm is there supposed to be a "story" in this rpg? Because i have yet to find it. It has Obsidian written all over it despite it being Bioware. Reminds me of a Medieval Mass Effect with all of the bad parts of NWN2 added to it. I am just one more relentless walkity walkity walk, stabity stabity stab yawn fest from uninstalling it.

It seems dropbox is best we can do for now. SVN seems a bit tougher to deal with. If anyone has a better idea i think the dev team would like to hear it.

torrents might be a good way to go, not just for pirates and very easy to upload a torrent. Once we have a few seeders the download speed are great. Sharing will use up bandwidth if your limited.

SVN server is good but I cant host anymore. I am on a limited bandwidth and it was eatin up real quick. I didnt think sharing the mod with 5 or 6 people would be that bad. Need an unlimited host with good reliable speed that can run almost all the time.

if it is any help I AM running a machine with utorrent and have a 'unlimited' 1.5mbit down 256kbit up internet, and use about 200gigabytes a month and have the comp on most of the time except for lockups/crashes, BUT do not know how to create/setup a new torrent, as I usually use it for anime.

I stop checking the site everyday for a few days, and I miss the tease of a limited diplomacy release.  Oh, well.  I am really looking forward to trying it out eventually.  I am also really looking forward to the new expansion.  Is diplomacy going to be the last build of SOA2?  Or, will you guys continue on with the new expansion?

On a side note, I can provide buddy keys to anyone wanting to give STO a try.  Just pm me your email.  I have been playing it non-stop since launch and it is light years away from what it was.  They are revamping ground combat in a couple months to make it 3rd person shooter like.  The weekly featured episodes are really well done and actually make ground portions of those missions fun and engaging.  It's not all about combat anymore.  They have added a lot of things to make it more "Trek" like.  You actually have to think your way out of some problems.  Downside is once you have burned through all the new content, it's back to the same old grind from before, at least until the final build of "User Generated Content" goes live.  Yes they have added loads of new dailies to do but the only real fun is doing it with friends as the solo game in the end is just one big boring grindfest.

Sorry about going off topic, but since I saw a few mention it and seemed to be asking I thought I would put my 2-cents in on STO.

code.google.com's SVN works fine and will grow the project size beyond the initial 2GB if needed. For mod developers it would satisfy sharing of files, but using a repository does require a bit more development processes to be employed including using a SVN client to perform the check in/outs which may be overly complicated for some.

Hello all I hope the few people that were able to download our pre release beta build enjoyed it.  Now to address some things. We are using drop box for Soa2 . We are also using SVN with Soa2. However the server for soa2 is based in canada and has monthly bandwidth caps. There fore we will be moving the server to my new retail store with unlimited bandwidth.  As to soa2 and future releases . At this point we are working on diplomacy and work on the entrenchment sereies has halted. The devs want our feedback as to our major complaints about sins entrenchment and diplomacy. The may fix them in diplomacy while working on rebellion mechanics. the link is below. We do intend to release all of our new builds via mod db desura and of course we will have a installer package to simplify the process , which also makes updates easy as well.

Taylor I may be able to do some texture and other graphical work in my spare time, but Ive got a lot of studying to do so my work would be slow and rare.

Does this last update also work with the Diplomacy V1.2 update?

Cause I have been waiting for the next update only to find out its updated after i updated my game.

I got the Diplomacy mod downloaded and I'm blown away!  You guys have done a fantastic job!  I always loved the Entrenchment version, but this looks great!

I'm getting a minidump so I ran with Diplomacy dev EXE.  Is there a separate forum or post for putting the errors that I am seeing or is this the place for that?  I searched on google and it looks like the error is one Myfist0 has seen before:

It was happening when I was fighting an Ambassador class with my Borg Queen's Diamond. The game had only been going for about 10 minutes. Could this be causing the minidump?

How do you get the latest version of the mod, the link posted hasn't worked for ages...

It'd be nice if you used mediafire instead, they don't give you a bullshit bandwidth usage message after a handful of people downloaded.

i have to reinstall sins. if i would only install diplomacy without SINS and Entrenchment, would the SOA 2 diplomacy version work?

or do i have to install sins an both expansion to play it?

if you want to see something weird in diplomacy, when a planet is being bombed alt-tab to the desktop or press the windows key and wait a minute and then go back to the game. all the missiles that were fired is frozen at or near the muzzle and when the game starts up again all of them start moving so a cloud of missiles hits the planet.

Could someone plz fix the download link for the diplomacy version because it hasn't worked for the last two day's.

I was downloading it a few days ago but it stopped when the download was allmost finished and hasn't worked since then.

Another minor bug for you to check out is the Keldon/Harbinger bug. In the game I just played, the Keldon has the Harbinger UI icon, and ship portrait, while the Harbinger has the Keldon's, etc.

A good place to upload this torrentwise might be GameUpdates - they cater to torrents for patches, mods and utilities for gaming.

Alternatively, Micael456 and I can offer a direct-download mirror, with what is marketed as an unlimited bandwidth plan (of course, we'll soon find out about "reasonable limits" clauses) - although we'll need the file first, since we came pretty to late to this.

Hopefully some of this can be of assistance before everyone manages to download it anyhow
