Your mod and very much you work is very impressive.

This topic has been brought up once but you guys could do some work on star ruler. As of now putting new race sets (ships etc.) is allready in game with drop down menu to choose from and making tech trees isn't hard at all. Atleast for a Team that has done a tremendous great work on sins, star ruler would be a breeze but has more room for modding freedom because of it's sandbox build up. Another large benefit is the constant communication between dev's and community.

It's just a suggestion so don't kill me for making it :)

Star Ruler is a sandbox game, and I think these guys would prefer the constraints of Sins to the bland sameness all the races of Star Ruler have in terms of technology and weapons.

Does anyone have a list of mods that are compatible with STSoA?  Mostly wondering if there is a fleet size mod and planet mods that work with it.  I have DS and love it and would love to see parts of it in STSoA.

That's the part of the a mod to decide where it goes. The core game has a typical sandbox style but also modding capabilitys are very much sandbox. I'm sure that you could make "defined" races with own tech trees and ship set's just like a custom star map and special conditions.

You could even add the borg to harass the galaxy. Such mechnics are allready in place.

what i'm saying that it's a great toolbox for modders to create their "dream" mod without much headache. Atleast adding new possibilities would have a greater chance because of the high active dev team. In comparision to Sins where you would have to wait a decade to get a specific feature done, it would surely be much quicker in SR.

I wouldn't consider myself a modder but i've started on some small project myself and am revamping the tech tree to my liking. And if a total noob can change stuff that easy then a pro mod team could do it without problems.

Question. It says a 7 zip zip utility is needed to unpack the mod, but the link is working but it says the file can't be accessed publicly. Is there another place I can download whatever is needed to upack the mod?

And another thing. I downloaded the mod for Entrenchment 1.051 because there isn't a mod for Diplomacy 1.2. Can I get the mod for Dip 1.2?

The latest versions works with 1.2 Diplo

And beside you don't need the 7-z utility, another zip package opener will also work

ice the latest winrar will also open the 7z files, BUT it trialware(only 30 days, then MUST BUY) where as the 7-zip is freeware.

7-zip is awesome.  Everyone should be using it anyway.

The best place to go for all your download needs...7-Zip

Nah - nagware. You don't have to buy it.

I have a question.  Whenever I start of the game, maybe about a minute into it I get a minidump.  I'm playing the write version and I know my computer has the memory and the speed.  Anyone have an idea of what might be wrong?

I personally use IZArc, which is also free, and it opens 7-zip, so I repeat my point, you don't need 7-z to open the file

excellent mod

what's the dominion supposed to do before they get heavy cruisers, the jem'hadar dominators (long-range frigate) are lackluster to say the least

and do the romulan "utility" roletypes become obsolete once heavy cruisers are researched?

Although Harpo knows, like, everything about Sins, he's not quite correct about 1.19rc being effectively interchangeable with 1.20.  I managed to run 1.19rc with the mod okay, but updated to 1.20 without realizing it.  I'm getting the minidumps 1-10 minutes into the game just like a lot of people here, which I didn't get before.

Can't say I have any knowledge of what changed between the 1.19rc and 1.20 or what is causing the minidump, but it's out there.  But from what I've seen, it's pretty awesome - I'm looking forward to getting a workable release when the mod team can make the updates!

I have recently updated my dipl to 1.2. Downloaded your dipl version, got my first ever mini dump in SoA2, just around the time I was building a diplo cruiser.

I can see alot of people saying they have gotten mini dumps while playing, but i just finished a game on 1.2 with SoA2 without a single problem. The game itself was quite long, 6 hours+ atleast.

Maybe i was just lucky....

i've been playing it on 1.2 for days now in large games, no problems so far

I'm starting to suspect the problem may be limited to one or two races if people are managing to play for hours while others can't get more than a few minutes.  The other possibility - that it's related to rigs, is too horrific to contemplate (Sins has been immune to such problems so far).

I've been getting these minidumps myself.  But only if I follow a ship at close zoom to the end of a phase jump.  Also, only when I play as the Federation.  (Not sure if that helps you guys at all.)

I too got the mini-dump the first time i played, as the Federation. I had ship details maxxed, reduced them to high and medium on ship bumps, all building and planet details to low, and haven't gotten the dump since.

i played a short incomplete game as borg and the rest of the time as dominion and romulans

i think i got a dump once, when i enabled the mod for the first time
