Changing the pirates to Borg should be a simple matter, but it's not a map issue. You're going to have to mod the whole game. Switching the pirates means switching the related file sets out. GalaxyScenarioDef.galaxyscenariodef, Gameplay.constants, and PlayerPirate.entity all need to change at a minimum. How much work you'll need to do changing assets around to function with raid spawns and whatnot, you'll have to find out.

Tried this mod multiple times now but keep getting mindumps. I try playing as borg build a ship then get the error. This happens with or without the patch applied. Any advice on what I could be doing wrong?
For some reason unknown to us the m0d dumps the 1st time it is enabled. Nobody I know has had an issue after just restarting the game.

I'll start off by saying I love the mod. The ship models and combat changes have really revitalized my interest in soase.
But I am curious... is there work being done on the hud right now? It seems very incomplete and kinda flat.
I am not sure if your against anyone "modding ur mod" LOL. But I am creating my own for now (for personal use) since I dislike the direction that was taken. If you like I am willing to share my work once completed. Everything else it amazing! Keep up the good work, I look forward to your next release!

Well I've been experimenting with a lot of different things. But so far I like this one best. Its all semi transparent.
I looked at alot of star trek huds, The bottom hud is representative of a piece from STO.

All Federation so far, will look into different races once I figure out whats actually possible.
I literally just finished the main menu, Kinda made it into a logo as well. Obviously it has some arrangement issues atm.

You did do a good job and you will probably be asked to do some huds for other mods. I do like it but we should stick to LCARS for the Feds anyway. The menu is very good as well. Like I said lets wait for the rest of the teams input. I would like to use it for another race if its OK and the team likes it.
I never heard of a modder that minded personal changes, just don't release the m0d publicly.
THe UI is a huge job and I am busy as hell lately.
Indeed, there are many mods don't have any custom HUDS at all and would love for someone to do one like you did.
Of course I didn't plan on release anything publicly, not really my style. In fact just posting here is kind of a big step for me since I am pretty self conscious of my work.

I personally like the existing SoA2 hud style (TNG style multicolored LCARS) as it is now. Just waiting on MyFist0 to finish it (when he gets the free time of course). He basically expanded on the original LCARS hud i made using the vanilla textures and basically had to mimic vanilla, because I had no clue how the UI grid system worked (i still dont know how it works). Doing UI work for Sins is no easy task. Especially a new UI from scratch. If the textures themselves dont drive you nuts, the brush files will. Like what was said i am sure there are plenty of mods that need your talents, and we dont mind you altering stuff in SoA 2 for your own personal use.

In fact i am surprised STO didnt do a colorful LCARS style. I am mad at STO now. I was gonna give it one more chance, because its FTP. However now it wont work at all! After 2 days of it refusing to connect, or update i said screw this i dont have time to deal with it, and uninstalled it for the last time. FTP only means its one foot in the grave anyway. Just like Warhammer Online. I am surprised city of heroes didnt go FTP yet.

I have had no issues with STO and FTP. Did you make sure to click the correct login button ie cryptic account or the other one? On the SOA2 side of the comments, we are in contact with the author of the revamped hud and moving forward , he has agreed to assist us when he can. With our current hud.

Borg are difficult to beat by design. You need to play more than one faction against them. Ether MP vs an AI borg, or you and some AI allies vs the Borg. The intended SoA 2 gameplay is to have one of each faction vs a single vicious aggressive AI Borg. You all don't have to be allied to begin with. This is to utilize the diplomacy mechanic. Also the toughness of the Borg is intentional to force players to use diplomacy to seek allies to help defeat them.
It is possible to beat the Borg with just one faction. However it will not be easy. You need to tech up quick while keeping the Borg from teching up at the same time. If you let cubes get on the map it is pretty much game over.
