That might not be an SOa2 bug...
I ran across the exact same thing a couple weeks ago, but I was playing the Distant Stars mod, not SOa2... I couldn't scroll to the right without zooming out and back in... it was very odd.
Has anyone else had this happen?

I have a question about the Borg.
First off, wanna have some fun? Set up a single player game as the Borg against 6 or so allies all set to vicious... hehehe. They actually had me going for a while, and early on nearly took my collective down a couple times. I'm thinking 8-9 allies all set to vicious might be able to do it, depending on the game and such... depends... if the Borg have their own system, and can put a unicomplex down at the sun it's pretty much over.
Anyway, I'm getting off topic here... back to my question. I noticed the Borg dont have a Diplomat ship. OK, makes sense, the Borg don't negotiate... they would never have something like that. But won't this play havoc with the AI? The game I was just playing the teams were locked, and nothing crashed... but I got wondering how the AI handles one of the teams not having a diplomat ship.
I hadn't thought about that, easy to forget that not everyone uses 16:9.
Everything works ok except for the infocards, the transparency really sux in that view. So I think I will just black it out, even tho that kinda sux for the rest of us.
Sup guys. 1 small question,how can I assign the 12 artifacts to certain races or planets instead of being random.Gf gives an option but doesn't work. Would I change it in the entity folder?
need to add all the artifacts to the galaxyScenerioDef file. Now there is only 1 in there, AI one I think.
Do it in the mod then copy that 1 to galaxy forge.
are u using Ent or Van?

As far as no diplomatic ship screwing up the Borg AI to be honest I really dont know how it is effecting them. I do know that among other things in the diplomacy aspect we did for the Borg it will cause them to ally with no one. Which is exactly what we want. We can accept a little AI bugginess for that. As long as there is nothing game breaking going on. The AI will build, and expand even if they have no diplomatic ships.
I was wondering why that had been moved. Makes sense for some. I have Klingon/Romulan work done. Have no idea what to do about cardassian tho. Kinda dry on ideas. I was thinking brown at first but then when I looked into what their lcars looked like I was kinda surprised to see blue and pink
Not exactly what I had remembered. I have a clear idea for borg, although it will take some serious time since I have trouble making smooth circles that small. Never enough to learn I guess. But I suppose the one I made for Fed could work "colorized" green of course. ![]()
No, the Borg would never have allies...
I'm about 2 hours into a modified version of Whirlwind, it's 7 vs. me.
I'm the Borg, vs 2 Klink, 2 Rom, 2 Dom & 1 Fed, all allied as team 2 and set to Vicious. So far this has been a real fun fight, and I've almost lost twice now. If the attacks were a little more coordinated the AI may have beaten me, and I'm thinking it's gonna get really hairy later.
Anyway, the teams are locked, but I took down a fed diplomat ship ship before I saved and exited to make some dinner, so I know the AI is using them. I'm not sure what would happen if I unlocked the teams, but so far no crashes.

Indeed, the only scenario where the Borg would ally with anyone is with another Borg faction. Take First Contact for example, if the Borg would have succeeded in contacting the Borg in the Delta Quadrant at the time, and assimilated Earth. Then, they would have surely united, becoming one collective, but still uniting none the less.
Or if they wanted they would ally themselves with someone to beat another enemy then bend you over after they beat their enemy.Like they did in Voyager when they allied them selves to beat species 8472.They they tried to assimilate Voyager.(The enemy of my enemy is my friend).
That is true... I hadn't thought about that, but yeah, they would have been 2 seperate "factions" at first, until they could link collectives.
But this was such a rare exception. I suppose if the teams were unlocked you could do something like this, but there is nothing like Species 8472 in the MOD.

I have a quick question. I love the new militia and pirate ships... and the ferengi were a nasty little surprise! At first I laughed when I saw them, until I realized how tough they are.... very nice!
And it's nice to see Bajor joining the fun...

Hey buds. I wanted to ask the community what type of maps are you'll playing?And in detail do you guys play where u warp from star to star or are all your solar systems connected from planet to planet with phase lanes?
I play a little of both. Fav vanilla map is systems of war. then i go random huge multstar. If i want to just watch the AI in action i do a huge single star and set up the 5 factions as AI then i surrender, and enjoy the show.
Damn, I never thought of that!!! Sort of like having a game on Auto-pilot. It'd be a great way to test out a new galaxyforge map.
And Systems of War is one of my top 3.
Very nice major stress.I play fortune favours the bold map and i added more detail to it.Since the game starts off pre next generation and original star trek I like to give my self a challenge.Every race's 1st solar system is not populated,so easy way to tech up.But the next solar system connected to first is populated with pirates.Very hard and fun map to play.
1 problem I ran in to is that all my solar systems last planet are connected by phase lanes to the next solar system.So there's no need for stat to star travel which makes artifact Galaxy Travel useless.My question is I tried to change the Artifact to something else.I changed the text in the English.str,GalaxyscenarioDef.and the ResearchSubject_Artifact_GalaxyTravel.entity foldrers.And it doesn't work,am I missing a step?Thx

Thx myfist0.I'm able to modify the contents of the artifact and change it to anything like shields etc.But the the title and the Icon of the Artifact is where i got lost or missed something.When ever I change the name of it from galaxytravel to something else it doesn't show up on the map.
Do you mean in Galaxy Forge? Doubt it will show the mod strings used but playing the mod will

Yea that's what happened.I didn't use galaxy forge i changed the English.str and nothing happened.I guess the best I can do for single player games is just change the modifier and the modifier type to what ever I want.I think I'll change it to modify shields or fire rate.Thx myfist0 for the info.
O by the way how are things going with the mod team?Are you guys still working on a patch or a conversion to rebellion?
