I haven't posted any of my debug files YET, as this happens on some other games, so I dunno if it's my system or elemental. If a dev can respond and tell me if I should post it or not that'd be great. Here's the deal. Elemental was working fine through beta .22, and into beta .23, when I got reminded again that you guys wanted us to have up to date drivers. So I downloaded the new drivers, which caused elemental to start making my stupid VPU crash. The card is a Radeon 3800 so it should be ca

I've noticed something somewhat disturbing at E3 this year, at least from all the coverage I've seen: No new RTS's announced at all. In fact none of the sites I've looked at even had a strategy section. The only RTS I know of that's in developement right now is Starcraft 2, that's it. Hopefully SC2 will be worth 3 or 4 RTS's, but still this has me a bit worried, is the genre dying out? I hoped that Sins would make enough of a splash that there would be imitators, but maybe not? If you

Two games that haven't been mentioned yet. First is Pax Imperia: Eminent Domain. It's a LOT like sins really, being a 4xRTS. It has it's flaws, but it's still pretty good (It's old too, going on 10 years). The other series I *HIGHLY* recomend is the Kohan games, both the first and 2nd one. It's also sort of a 4xRTS, but it's a fantasy setting rather than scifi. Unfortunately the multiplayer on both of these is pretty much dead AFAIK, but they're still great game

Hmm could someone please update the original sins plus as it was before entrenchment, to be entrenchment compatible? I really don't want anything else added, I liked it the way it was. No offense to Aaron or anything, but I don't want tougher pirates, I like 'em how they are,

How about this? Give SB's in friendly turf a large range advantage. Might not help if you want to choke off a non colonizable, but as the SB's stand now, it's not too difficult to have one in each planet. This should be totally doable from a coding standpoint as the Akkan has a range increasing ability already. All we need to do is apply it to friendly system starbases. Maybe make it an in culture thing? This way starbases can still be used offensively without being cheap, but the defensive o

In both MoM and AoW:SM you had a certain amount of mana you could channel into spells per turn. How is elemental going to deal with this? Will there be some kind of limit or what, and if so, how will it work? One thing I hated about AoW:SM was that the amount of mana you could cast per turn was used both in combat and out. I much prefered Mom's way, where you could cast your full amount of mana in each battle. It allowed much more flexibility of defense if you had the mana.

No one has mentioned Guy Gavriel Kay yet? What kind of epic fantasy thread IS this anyway? If you like fantasy you HAVE to at least read Tigana. The Fionavar Tapestry is good too, but you MUST read Tigana......

This sounds pretty cool but i foresee a few problems. First of all, if you had managed to defeat your enemies, you probably were getting close to maximizing your spell research or whatever else there will be to research. So once the cataclysm comes, you won't be able to get much stronger. You'll already have uber powerful dragons and stuff, and that might take some of the fun out of it. It would just be a matter of who could build the biggest army fastest. I suppose you could say that the cat

Maybe set up categories. Make one big category anything that fits and is compatible with the lore for purists and people who don't want the mood ruined. Then have another category where everything goes, you can have Jedi or lasers or whatever. Have both rated by the community to filter out the good from the bad in both categories. I'm not a total purist, wouldn't mind having an Obi Wan in there or something now and again. It'd be cool if you could check something to create a game that sticks
Forgiven: And why should I believe YOU? No one has yet answered that simple question... how did life begin? I have an answer. You don't.This is about the 10th time I have asked that. NO ONE WILL ANSWER. So I can only assume that they can't answer it, so why on earth should I believe that theory? You may disagree with my answer, and even redicule it... that is OK. but NO ONE has given me an answer based on evolution. It is simple. It is because YOU CAN'T... PERIOD.
OK As

Uzii - Awesome mod - Great work! :) One problem I've noticed, I played a multi star system game where each player had a star to themselves, and some of the AI's got a planet graveyard, and they just sat there at the planet graveyard with a bunch of ships like they thought they should be killing them. I do have one quick question too. Dunno if you'll know this, but when you use the in-game map creator (NOT the galaxy forge, the random map creator under the single player menu), i

First of all, to those saying make PJI's stop phasing all together, what do you do about the novalith cannons that can bombard from afar? Personally I think those things were a REALLY bad idea. Remove the Novaliths, and PJI's can go back to blocking phase jumps. But as long as those Novaliths are around, creating phase stopping PJI's would result in games being simply a matter of who can tech faster and get the Novaliths up. Whoever gets them first, wins. Which would suck.

It gives 2% extra BASE mitigation, but it also extends the RANGE of mitigation. Normal ships have a max shield mitigation of 60%, with both upgrades it becomes 75%. Shield mitigation increases drastically as ships take damage, the more damage, the faster it increases. edit to add that's 2% for each of the 2 upgrades, for a total of 4, but it increases the max amount by 7.5% per tech, which is the problem).
