hehe.. your opponent screwed up with his fleet composition probably cause he didn't scout properly.. instead of having 40 destras, 80 disciples (which are pretty crappy ships), he should've had 20 destras, 30 guardians with push ability,30 drone hosts with mixed bombers/fighters and 60 illums with all beam upgrades... I wouldn't say that's spamming as long as he would have a mixed fleet. as it was he had no drones hosts and just 10 defense vessels -- basically no counter to your 36 percherons

man, you people are broke.. $10 is nothing nowadays and I'll gladly pay it for each of the three expansions. A bottle of beer in Europe is 6 euros - $10... As long as I get a quality product - such as Sins of Solar Empires - and the usual follow-up tuning via patches, $10 is a small prices to pay. Calling devs greedy is pretty strong wording - they have to get paid just like we all do. Off the topic, to anyone who's read "Ender's Game" by Scott Card, doesn't SOASE remind you of the fleet simu

Yeah, I have the same problem. I currently only play single-player, 3vs3, with all AI's on unfair difficulty... When I tell AI to attack a planet, it agrees, gets its huge fleet one jump away from the planet and then just sits there stupidly the whole time, while my fleet gets raped by combined fleet of 3 enemy AI's (which DO team up against me). I've loaded the game and tested it for time- stupid AI accepted missions, then sat for 15 minutes in the gravity well of neighboring planet. AI need

Hi! I've downloaded the beta 5 and my computer totally freezes up when Galactic Council window pops up. I mean it totally locks up - I need to restart it just to get back into windows :-( And another thing that I've noticed in both Dark Avatar and TA - my colony ship can only carry 250 colonists, while the module is supposed to carry 500. It's incredibly annoying since planets grow REALLY slow when starting with 250 colonists. I've tried enabling hardware cursor in TA to see if that solves the

2'nd system: Core 2 Duo E6600, 2gig ddr2 800MHz, 7950 GT Got the same config, latest video card drivers and also crashes in multiplayer at certain time point with mini-dump message. Strangely, I don't get crashes when I play 1 on 1 games. I've sent all my info to ironclad and they're working to resolve this for me. Hopefully, they will soon ;-)

yup.. got the same problem.. strangely, it only crashes in multiplayer games with more than 2 players.. i can play 1vs1 online for hours with no problems. i have windows xp, dual core, 7950gt geforce. no idea why this happens.. gotta be a bug of so me sort.

What sucks even more is when you spend about 30 minutes building up your empire with another 3 human players in the game, and when it's about to get interesting - your game crashes, you're thrown out and there's NO WAY WHATSOEVER to re-join that same game.. This happened to me about twice already - everytime in a game with more than 2 people in it. There's gotta be some way built-in to find this game and re-join after the application crashes to desktop - I think that would be my #1 request for 1

I have to agree... Most games people use the same damn strategy - spam missile frigates and bum rush your opponent. How boring is that. It becomes a click-fest but I'm sure there's gotta be a strategy to win. Maybe ironclad can nerf these missile frigates a bit so they become easily destroyable and require lots of support to be effective, then that would stop the spam tactics.
Make PJI's delay for longer, and cover a whole planet's gravity well. Give static defenses an increase in range and attack power. (It would be even nicer if you made them way stronger than now, but made a new tech around tier 4 that let players do damage to turrets faster, so the turrets would help as a strong defense against minor raids and early attacks, but not against late game assaults).
I second the above notions.. Making PJI block entire gravity well

Hi guys! I was recently playing online and my opponent didn't reseach any technology, didn't build any capital ships, but just spewed out MASSES of Vassari assailants( which are I guess equivalent of TEC's LRM). I was playing as Vasari, was fighting him at my home planet with 3 hangers (all 3 staffed with bombers), 2 regen stations, 2 cap ships (Skilandtra carrier for repair) and about 10 enforces, all with fully upgraded shields/repair/wave damage and I couldn't beat his 40 Assailants. Am I do

Hi guys! I figured it out.. In case you modified values in one of game text files as per suggestions in this forum to reduce pirate attack frequency, that causes problems in multiplayer - it thinks the game is different version. I made a backup of the text file in gameinfo folder so I restored it and everything works fine. Especially since last patch took care of the pirate issue ;-)

Hi guys! This game is awesome and I totally love it but I just can't manage to play against any live opponents. When I try to host, I don't get any error messages from ICO but when people try to join, I see them for a second and then they drop. When I try to join, I get disconnected from the server. I've read all the posts on forums and I've put my PC into DMZ on my router, forwarded ports 6000-6112 on the router AND enable UPNP on my router and PC. I've even added 6112 port manually to Windows

At some point, as soon as I form ships into a fleet, their total movement points would go to 3 or 1 in some cases. Even after I disband the fleet, the movement points would stay at 3. My ships each have 4 HyperWarp III modules, their movement should be 25 but for some reason it's 3. Other ships which I haven't joined into fleet yet (of the same design) have movement 25. This is VERY frustrating! I hope it's just a fluke and not a common bug - because that would make the game unplayable. I thi

thanks a lot guy for your responses.. well, i went to the extreme - disabled ALL textures, went to hardware cursor, turned autosave off and set the resolution to 1280x800. With those setting it works. Looks like crap with no graphics at all but at least I can now PLAY! Strategic map looks fine anyway I'm hoping Stardock comes up with a patch or some workaround so that people with integrated intel v-cards

damn, i tried two older version of the driver - via setup and the oldest drivers via developer version. With the oldest drivers, I actually managed to play for about 20 turns before the same thing happened - my display driver failed and I got the same error ;-( This is so strange - why does Gal Civ II work but DA does not?!?! It must be the new graphics changes that just won't work with my integrated video card. Any other ideas? ...besides getting a new PC <img src="http://images.stardock.com/

Hi! I've been playing GalCiv II with no problems at all on my laptop since its release. Even now, GalCiv II works perfectly. I pre-ordered DA, was involved in the beta and had this problem then, but thought it'll be eventually worked out in the final version. Well, I downloaded final version and still same problem. When I start the game, after a few seconds it freezes, then my display driver fails, reverts back to 16 colors and I get this message: The ialmrnt5 display driver has stopped worki
