SC2 is indeed one of the best games ever. I was a bartender in those days and I'd come home from work around 3-4am. While the rest of the house was spleeping, I was playing SC2 until sunrise. Sometimes I knew what to do next, but I remember being lost most of the time. I resorted to scanning every planet one by one to find the next clue. If you're familiar with the game, you realize the enormity of such an undertaking. When I finally found that next clue, it would invaria

If you place a fleet just outside a planet and order it to guard, will it defend the planet against invasion from all sides? Or does guard only apply to that square? I'm just wondering if I should place fleets off planet in the absence of orbital fleet managers.
Maybe a bit off topic but an idea I had concerned acquiring technology following combat victories. Basically salvage. Providing the defeated ships possessed technologies the victor doesn't, there could be a small probability of learning those techs. What say you?
make them into a fleet. click on both and then click the 'create fleet' button. You'll need some research into logistics first.
Thanks Mayito8888. I guess I was too busy playing yesterday to be lurking here. And only by playing did I realize how useful this really is. Thanks also to whoever put this together..
bump. I simply can't be the only person that thinks this is a good idea. Hell, I'd be happy with a full tech tree on the website. At least we could alt / tab to it at any time. . Unless someone else can point out an alternative. Cheers
Are you guys getting the same freedom of movement with the free cam in the combat viewer as you are on the main map? It's totally different for me. The main screen moves free and easy, but I find moving the free cam in the combat viewer much more difficult. If it worked as well as the main cam, I'd use the free cam almost exclusively. Instead, I almost never use it since I find it so cumbersome.
After only a couple hours with the game, I found myself wishing for the same thing. I actually just created a thread looking for a printable tech tree.
Is there such a thing? I've only really breezed through the manual, but could find no such thing. Sometimes it's good to see the big picture. Pressing 'more' on the research screen helps to an extent, but I'd still rather see much more of the tree on screen at any given time. If there is such a thing, could someone point me in the right direction? Otherwise, show your support and get behind this idea in this thread. BTW - Since I'm at work and haven't logged from
Can someone please help me with this little annoyance? The middle mouse button pans the camera on the x and y axes nicely, but I can't seem to lock it in the new angle. The moment I release the button, the view snaps back to default. How can I rotate the camera so that it holds in place?
