I did not find this article all that informative myself. There was some talk about balancing etc. but since the beta testing has not included any real balance testing yet, seems to me what the devs have done in alpha may very well go out the window once beta digs into it...at least I hope they consider the beta feedback.
I like the idea of picking the item up as well. with regard to the vamp lord poison potion...nothing would have to indicate it is poisoned while in your inventory...if you decide to use it...BAM!!!! you get poisoned.
I have had this problem also. I will not bother describing it again but this is obviously a very common issue. I did not realize it was only on the new map since i have not played the falls since the last release
It is my fault for not keeping the cd key for almost 2 years but anyone could give their cd key away if they wanted to. It is not an issue for me to really harp on I guess but something about purchasing a product that is no longer functional because something like this does not seem right to me. I will not purchase the manual again so it is a wasted cd at this point. I did get some enjoyment out of it however. It really is a good game. One more reason why i like
I would like some feed back. I purchased a game called dominions III over a year and half ago. I had a hard drive failure and had to reload my programs and games. I have the cd for dominons but lost my manual. That is my fault, but when I approached Gamers front about it, they said i had to buy a manual to get the cd key and that they do not keep track of the cd keys. I understood and made a comment that I would think they had a record of my purchase (I provided
Yep, I agree on that one...but I still think it generates interest in the game as a whole. It's really not a big deal with me. As an aside, have you ever condidered writing an article for them? It sounds like you would have a lot of good insite.
My job isn't even that of a writer and I'm spotting wrong things in all their articles on all sorts of games.
I thought we were talking about this article not the entire list of articles in the site. Is there anything in this article that causes damage to the general perception of this game?
yep, folks have asked for this in a couple different threads. The general concensus has been in favor of improving the camera so I think we will see some improvements in future builds.
The info is not even correct. Example: They keep talking about eight demigods, not six.
that appears correct but I shuld note that people here have been depating how many and what kind of Demigods would be present even here. I think it is written as a preview to a beta build of a game that will more than wet the whistle of potential players which means more fun for all of us.
I agree...there is nothing wrong with this article except for the fact that it was not written for beta testers.
GCFL, even though Stardock is publishing DG (god bless them for it) they are not making it. you really can't compare SOASE and DG as they were made by different developers
Understood...I was just using that as an example of a game that I know is highly moddable and wondered if early work on mod support during the beta process could have been the reason. You guys answered my question...thanks much!
Quick question...I have never been involved in a beta before so this is purely out of my own ignorance. Is it a normal process to request modding considerations this early in the game? Sins is very mod friendly...is that because of early modder influence during the beta or is it better to discuss this kind of thing later?
Um, how do I record the game?
Pretty good. This reminds me of the writing style of Sarah Ash in her series the Tears of Artamon. Come to think of it...this made me think of a new Demigod I will flesh out and suggest. The Drakhaoul... The Dragon Daemon Lord!
Since the Beta 1 build is not being tested specifically for Demigod skills, etc, I really think it is very premature to be making any judgements regarding the fun factor and how this game plays as compared to RELEASED games. I do not have the hx of playing all of these others games that many others here obvisously have but I can't help think that comparing this game to specific game mechanics in others games is not necessarily helpful. If certain game mechanics seem to work, by al
Frome one "0" karma guy to another...I would if I only knew how.
I like the idea of making him bigger and slower with more hit points or higher defence value. I like the idea of seeing him sooner than other demigods but I am not sure no matter where he is on the map. I am also not sure about what he should be able to see...perhaps he could just be near sited so as to not ruin the fog of war.[e digicons]|-)[/e]
I agree. once the camera control is improved, i think zooming out and back in is fine. i would not want to clutter the screen any more with a mini map that i do not think has any real value. One exception..if the map is very large..then it may be helpful.
can't wait. Thanks! crud..sorry for the double post
can't wait. Thanks!
OK, then the idea can be further refined to what you describe...if a wall being constructed away from yourself...as part of another ability somehow perhaps, then that is fine. If the idea, as I initially constructed it has issues, then I have no problem canning it and changing the way it would work. It may not be the best for the rook...possibly for another demigod as I think you mentioned earlier. In any case, as the very basic point of my suggestion, and I mentioned this o
ok, so you can only have 4 ACTIVE skills. Is that to say the we should only be concentrating on how to improve the existing skills already in the game? OK, so put innociv down as a non supporter of the idea. I couldn't tell earlier ;) I will move past this idea but hopefully there is something in this idea that could manifest itself somewhere else.
"Rook has to give away some of its health bar to create the wall, with it being returned empty when the wall is destroyed? Or they share health?" You know this question made me think...the wall health and the rooks health should be shared. If the wall is damaged, the rook loses health. If the rook dies, the wall crumbles. Just a thought.
"So you want to break the best designed character in the game to give him something dumb like a wall? [e digicons]:\[/e] You have to TAKE AWAY his hammer smash and boulder, two skills in the game that work togethe wlel. Or his tower, which synergizes three different ways, which is more of what this game needs! OR his building suck, a fundamental skill for the rook." I just disagree with you here. We are in Beta 1 and you already think this
