Well, it looks like Obama is winning pretty handedly thus far. I guess this means I will not be purchasing any future games for myself...they will all go to the less fortunate gamers out there. So, let me know what ya'll want because I'm buy'n.

I hate the chess board battle map. That, IMO would be a huge disappointment.
if you can think of it...you can program it. That's what I am told by the programmers where I work at least.
I am going to sound like a Stardock fanboy but what the hell. I have to say that the way Stardock involves its customers in the game design process is simply outstanding. My profession has NOTHING to do with game design but I have always dreamed of designing and publishing my own game. But lets face it...I do not have the time, and/or the programming skills required much less the funding needed. I have to assume there are many other gamers out there just like me.&
I must be stupid but when I try to pre-order the download version ($44.95) the price shows as $49.95 in the shopping cart. Error or am I doing something wrong here?
I would love this but it may be difficult for the devs to sort through and it would take more than just posting an idea here on the forums. I would think they would need an offical submission method and a limit per individual so people do not just throw out crappy ideas hoping something would stick.
This may be premature but I am hopeful for 2 things: 1. there will be no scripted missions. I have played some games where your only path on the campaign map was a scripted one...mission 1 must be done before mission 2, etc. I want to explore that glorious map my own way. I love the way the Total War maps let you move freely...translate that freedom to Elemental and you have a winner! 2. True tactical combat. I am not looking for Total war type battles
I'm in. Getting ready to order now. I love the process of being on the Demigod beta so I can't wait for this.
Not sure if this thread is being honestly followed now that other issues seem to have hijcked it but I will list me thoughts very briefly: 1. cd keys = bad. I lost mine to Dominions after playing for well over a year. now I have to repurchase 2. DRM = not bad if implemented correctly. Limit to how many times I load the software sucks but other than that, people are making a bigger issue out of it just to hear themselves bloviate on the subject.
While i am waiting for the stardock fantasy game, I would really like to find someplace that still offers Age of Wonders: Shadow Magic. I know this game is somewhat old but does anyone know where i can get my hands on it? I shy away from ebay frankly because I have been burned before with software so any other sources for purchase would be appreciated. thanks!
Fantasy Wars is a nice game
I have considered purchasing this game and like the demo but the reviews all seem to mention this time or turn limit to each mission. I HATE turn limits on games but have not read where you can turn that "feature" off. It is that reason only that I have not gotten the game.
1) Have you ever bought an expansion to a game before? 90% of the time they cost $30 or more. Get over the price.
Yes I have. If you read the post I was not making a BIG issue over the cost and stated that it really is based on one's perceived value. Money is not the issue but value is! As stated I plan on purchasing the expansion(s). I don't think I mentioned the updates. I am a fan of Ironclads. I'm sorry, did I indicate otherwise
I am not sure how I feel about this. I think it is a great idea in the sense that it does provide a quick turn around for new content BUT at $10 a pop it does seem rather high when you take all three expensions into consideration. It will all depend on the perceived value of the enhancements I suppose so I am sure to purchase at least one expansion. Which brings me to a question...what if I purchase one expansion and not the other two. Do you have to have the first expa
I'm not denying Stardock themselves abide by it, and a few smaller publishers might, but EA, Ubi etc... NEVER GOING TO HAPPEN. That is why it's a publicity stunt, as nobody can possibly believe the biggest publishers in the world are going to give a flying shit. EA make money hand over first without going along with pretty much any part of it. Why would they change? Seriously, why would the 800 pound gorillas ever listen to a little monkey chirping at them?
I am sure th
I for one do not like the idea of creeps building anything. They are here for one thing...complete destruction or fodder depending on how you look at it.
Key general functions I would like to see: 1. the ability to control the type of creeps that get spawned 2. spawn squads of creeps or have an ability to easily control groups of creeps rather than an individual creep click fest 3. issue orders to creeps such as protect target, protect me, follow me, guard area. 4. way points 5. basic creep formations (horde, line, wedge) 6. spawn target area (assign a location or locations where spawned creeps w
I am going to try the Battle for Wesnoth. I will also more than likely go ahead and purhase the Fantasy Wars game. I have never really liked games like Heroes of Might and Magic, etc. because I HATE the battle modes. You never get more than a few units playing on what can best be described as a pretty chess set. I prefer games where I have vast armies playing across expnsive battle fields. I had Dominions 3 but lost the CD key and absolutely refuse to purchase it
I just found this title while browsing for turn based games. I have played the demo and liked it quite a bit. Anyone else have experience with this game? I am considering purchasing.
1) Keep your staff happy 2) If your keep your staff happy, your customers will be happy
In my experience 1 and 2 are reversed but I digress.
This thread is a virtual fart...I didn't want to read it but I had to. Now I wish I hadn't!!
First, I do not agree with much Ms Salvatore writes in the first place so she is a quak in my opinion. Not because I disagree with what she writes but because what she writes is generally discounted my a majority of readers I know. Second...so is the new fantasy game based on Monte Python? Will we have bunny rabbits biting peoples heads off?? "run away, run away". Some more suggested quotes: "what is your favorite color?", I shall now throw the ho
I travel during the week so only play with it on weekends. I may play once or twice max each weekend after reading the latest comments/observatons others make to see if I agree with their statements. The slow downs on the new map keep me from playing as much though so I am not compelled to play much until the next build.
Perhaps the racing game comment was referring to the customization of the ability tree during game play...kind of like selecting tire pressures, trim outs, etc that may impact play. It seems like a stretch to me but I am just guessing. Like I said...the article was blah IMO.
