Just wanted to update on this, dannillo helped out and found the answer, in photoshop 1- unlock the background by making it into a layer. 2- merge booth layers (cick the layer holding the [Control] key) 3- Change the Fill (or oapcity) level. Save the image as TGA and done.

I've been working with skin studio for a few weeks now and i must say everytime i round a corner, theres another long tunnel, i've managed to look at the small picture when working, because to look at the whole picture is mindboggling.. i just wanted to ask when people make a new wb skin, do they make all there own graphics for it or do they use other graphics already made? I wouldnt have gotten anywhere on the current one in doing if it wasnt for the

yes, the start panel items are bmp's, let me guess, they should be tga's?

translucency problem in Object Desktop Stardock Forums

im in the process of creating a wb using ss, and trying to get a transparent start panel, the problem i have is when i chk the translucency box, the panel dissapears, the taskbar works fine tho, is there a setting im missing? the panel shows up when the box is unchecked but it isnt transparent (even tho the transparent box is checked) thank you.

thanks for the info night train as i am new to skinning also and was messing up my panels also. this should ease the pain until i get better with magins.
