Yes. Outlook does start from Start Menu, desktop, quick launch, and Vista Sidebar, just not OD+. I'm not for sure what you mean environment variables?

I still can't figure out the Wifi or the Battery meters. Apparently, the meter functions/calls have changed in Vista. Does anybody have a Wifi or battery meter running in systats on Vista?
I've recently switched to Vista (fresh install) and I can not get my calendar docklet to launch Outlook. It will open Outlook, and then pop up with the error, "Cannot start Microsoft Outlook. Cannot open the Outlook window. The set of folders cannot be opened. The information store could not be opened." Any ideas? This happens even if I place a plain old shortcut to Outlook 2007 on my OD. Thanks,Rod
Did you ever figure out the Outlook problem or the Systats problems. I can't get outlook to launch from Objectdock. It gives the same error as above. I can launch Outlook fine from Sidebar, Quicklaunch or startmenu. Only OD+ chocks? Systats work, but no battery, or Wifi info??
Ok, uninstall, clear cache, delete program folder, reinstall. Right click OD.exe set compatibility to xpsp2, and run as administrator. Now CPU history runs great, but battery and Wifi, no go. When I looked at my old XP laptop, battery was using a Battery Meter Class, ....that is not even listed in Vista. Wifi uses a vbs script and the objWMIService.ExecQuery doesn't appear to be workable in Vista, any ideas or help?
Thanks Bebi. Are there plans to fix it? I like my Sidebar, but OD+ had much more functionality and customization.
I just installed OD+ on my Vista 32Ultimate laptop. I installed sysstats and CPU history..All was good. Installed Wifi info, and no go....so I started messing around with permisions and ownership of the OD+ install folder, now CPU history is broke, always says -1. When I go into configure the meter, there are no meters listed to choose from...no network, no memory, etc. Can anybody help me? Tried clearing cache, and uninstall and reinstall. No joy.
I too have been having this problem. I haven't narrowed it down to anything in particular. I have my dock reserving the left edge of my screen....funny thing is that when it quits the edge stays reserved. I OD icon will still be in the tray till I hover over it then the OD icon disappears, and I just go to the start menu and restart it. It's kind of annoying. Any ideas? OD1.9 on WinXP SP2
Thanks. I've tried a variety of sysstats configs from all sources. And they all work great on my user side, but when I log in my wife as a user on my xp pro sp2 machine, there are no backgrounds, not even an option to set a background or meter class only text class. Can anybody help me?
I just set up my wife as a second user on my home computer and started Objecct Dock Plus for her. I initially had some troubles with WMedia player and Sysstats not running at all. I was able to get WMP and Systats to run by following the advice at http://forums.tweakguides.com/archive/index.php/t-977.html but Sysstats is still not working properly. I can add a sysstats item, but there are no backgrounds and some of the meters don't work. When I try to configure the overl
I think I finally found it. It finally gave me an error about "Insufficient System Resources Exist to Complete the API" apparently there is a MS KB and fix for it. Read about it here. It has to do with computers with more than 1gb of ram. So far so good!!!!!!!!!!!! http://support.microsoft.com/kb/909095 Thanks. And I hope more people learn about this fix, because googling fo
Thanks Sir Zubaz, but no it is not. I'm running ODPlus 1.3 build 526u. For regular non-tabbed docks there is no option for it to reserve the screen edge, like you are able to do with tabbed docks. You can only place it on any edge and set the z-order, but you can not reserve the screen edge. Is there a newer build?
Cool. Thanks. When is that due out? If I could, while I have your ear, ask another request.... I'd like to see regular/non-tabbed docks have the ability to reserve the screen edge space like tabbed docks can. Thanks again. !!
It's weird. I thought for sure it was WB. Then I thought it was Yahoo Widgets, and then and then and then. It turns out whenever I change something ie install, uninstall, change some start menu settings etc it fails to hibernate. Other times it will hibernate 2,3,4, or more times then fail. I've pretty much given up. It works as long as I am not messing around too much.
I guess I won't use flyout menus. Does Stardock support come to these forums or should I submit this as an email?
It happens if the item is in the middle or on the edge. I think I figured out why it happens, but I don't know if there is a fix. I started with a new tabbed dock as a drawer on the left side of the screen and checked to reserve screen edge, but not to autohide. Started adding shortcuts and one flyout menu. It worked until I stretched the background to run the length of the screen. Now it only flys out downward and not out to the side. <img src="http://images.stardock.c
It's weird. It is new. And it hibernated the first few days, then I proceded to intall all my stuff. Now, I've unistalled WB, shut down OD+, shut down Yahoo widgets, Dell's Nicconfig Power utility, and various other apps from starting, now it will hibernate one time after booting, but it will fail on the second attempt...It will act like before and the hibernation option is then greyed out, and I must shutdown, standby or restart. Weird.
yrag. Thanks for the tip, but they were already set up that way. Neil, I'm also using Object Dock Plus. How can I figure out if there is a software conflict?
It will turn off the lcd and look like it's preparing for hibernation, but instead of popping up with the WinXP Hibernating.......... black screen the computer restarts, regains wifi connection, and turns the LCD back on.
I think my title says it all. When I have WB loaded with any skin, it prevents Hibernation. I will suspend, but not hibernate. Here's my WB info: WindowBlinds 5.1 System Information Report: STATUS : WB+ SRV+ HLP+ UI+ TRAY+ WindowBlinds is installed correctly on this PC. WindowBlinds appears to be activated on this PC Your machine supports per pixel borders on WindowBlinds skins. You have one monitor in total. (Plug and Play Monitor
I've just created an tabbed OD on the side of my screen that I'm trying to use as a 'sidebar.' The problem is that I've added a couple of flyout menus to the dock but they flyout from underneath the icon instead of out to the side. I can post some shots, but I think I described it correctly. Is this normal? Or should I start all over, clearing the cache and such?
I'm sorry to join in w/o adding any help. But I too have the same questions. I'm using OD+ 1.3. And I'd like to use it to create a "Sidebar" type thing. I see that if I create a tabbed dock on the side of my screen I can set it to reserve screen space. Works PERFECT. EXEPT, with tabbed docks I can't have a totally transparent background and there aren't as many options for zooming/glowing icons in tabs. I (and I think castironpants) really want to have a standa
Ah, I think I found some answers by trying things out. So it only works with Tabbed docks and not regular docks. I'd like regular docks to hold their own space.
How do you do this: Docks can now reserve the edge of a screen so that windows cannot cover them. Does this mean when I have a dock at the top of the page and I open a doc or web page the page will be lower on the screen so as not to cover the dock?
I can't understand why it would turn off the virus protection though I can't remember about auto protection, but the script service that gets disabled, is used by a lot of things, and they will not work properly once Norton blocks the script when DesktopX loads. System Restore System Help<
