I get the following error when I shut down my computer....(loosely quoted)'IconX.exe failed to load because windows is shutting down' Anybody know what's causing this. I've uninstalled, cleared cache and reinstalled and still no luck. It seems I used to have an option in IconX to have it start with windows and now that is gone also. I created a shortcut to iconx in my startup folder. I'm running WB4.6, ObjectDockFree, DesktopX and IconX throug

Perhaps that's the problem...... the proper subject line is NOT RESOLVED. That's what I meant. Sorry. BTW: The reply to an autoreply or they'll assume your problem is solved thing is kind of a pain. <TABLE cellpadding=8 width="95%" align=center bgColor=#FFF394 class="mb-Bo
AVG sounds good, but that doesn't help those who may be stuck with or forced to use Norton or McAffee.
Some Stardock products (or items created with) use scripts. Norton blocks scripts. The way I see it, the only way for Stardock to 'fix' that is not use scripts. But Norton doesn't block all scripts. Yes I agree, Norton should do something to help the problem, but it also seems to me since Norton does
I'd just like to make a formal request to upgrade the forums here at Wincustomize. I think they are valuable and provide lots of good info, but searching the forums is very difficult and findging the search button is almost impossible. And when I'd like to watch a specific thread, I click and the watch button but I get the following error page. An Error Occurred There was a problem opening this page. Please refresh the page and try
It seems several people are having problems with DesktopX and Scripts. Here are some more posts. https://www.wincustomize.com/Forums.aspx?ForumID=166&AID=83294#654263 https://www.wincustomize.com/Forums.aspx?ForumID=175&AID=41733#654244 Can this be fixed, besides disabling ScriptBlocking??????
Yes, it's a script issue with DesktopX and either NortonAntivirus or McAffee and their respective ScriptBlocking Tools. The only solution I have found, short of reinstalling MSScript or re-registering scripts after EVERY boot was to disable ScriptBlocking in Norton. I've emailed Stardock, but no replies. Norton told me to just disable ScriptBlocking. I've done that, but now my computer is possibly not as safe as it once was,
I'm a paid/registered user of ObjectDesktop and I have emailed stardock support several times and replied with the NO RESPONSE in subject line and I have never received any replies other than the lengthy worthless auto-reply. Does Stardock ever reply to emails? Is there something else I can do to get Stardock to reply to my emails? Frustrated.
I use Norton AV2005 and I had similar script problems with Norton and DesktopX. It would stop many scripts and mess up Internet Explorer, Help and System Restore. I disabled ScriptBlocking. I emailed Norton and here's what they said. Basically turn it off and don't worry. That sux. Now I have now script protection. I've emailed Stardock support several times over that last 4 weeks and still no replys... <img src="http://images.
Thanks, That did the trick. Nice tutorial, too. Thanks, again. I was beginning to think my computer was wiggin' out.
All of a sudden my silica calculator is all messed up. Only a few buttons are showing, BKSP, 7, 1, 0 and a couple of others ....all other buttons are missing and won't work. Any ideas?
Well, it's not a ObjectDock thing, because I just recently installed ObDock in hope of using the ShowDesktop docklet. And I don't think IconX is causing the problem, because, I had this problem before I installed IconX. It's terribly frustrating. ESPECIALLY, when I read of others that don't have this problem. <TD class="mb-Body-Quot
I'm using the normal WindowsTaskbar, (normal other than skined by WindowBlinds)....is it possible to set the z order for it? So I could have THBtB on top and my taskbar second....or would my open windows then cover my taskbar (assuming it was possible.)? And for now, I went back to using DX2Minimizer, because of the excel problems. And/Or can either of these two products be converted to be used on my ObjectDock? OR.
I'm trying to place it on my taskbar. I slide over my quicklaunch toolbar area to create a space for it. It works great till I click the startmenu or systray then it's gone.?? I edited my last post just above, I don't know if you say that...we're posting so fast. The same thing happens when I try to place the DX2 minimizer on the taskbar as well
Rabidrobot, when I minimize the my windows with your HardestButton, it messes up Excel. All my toolbars disappear and the only way to get them back is to close Excel and reopen. Anyideas how to stop that? I tried that ObjectDock ShowDesktop and it shows my plain desktop, no widgets, and no IconX icons???? Looking at your Button Rabidrobot, I'm
Just change the Appearance setting on the States tab of the object properties to Image, and then use whatever image you want. I tried that. But when I change it to an image it fails to work. The Hardest Button is perfect. I changed the image and then I placed it on my taskbar. And ALL IS
So what is the difference between normal and desktop zorder. And can anybody help me with the script thats from Martin's DX2Minimize. How can I make a simple icon to minimize all windows? I'm not toooo concerned with restoring the windows. But I'd like to make that into an icon instead of text. Also, is there anyway to make this script function into a normal windows shortcut? Sub Object_OnScriptEnter Object.Tex
It's not a flaw in DX, it's Windows doing what it's told. If it's not a flaw, then what is Desktop Zorder level for anyway?
Thanks for the info about the WinKey+M, but I really want a shortcut on my quicklaunch tool bar to minimize all windows. From the newsgroup, I was pointed to https://www.wincustomize.com/ViewSkin.aspx?SID=1&SkinID=2733&LibID=3 which works perfectly when you get the z-order set to always on top, (switch to DXBuilder Mode) but it is with words, I'd like to make this into a pair of icons. Can anybody help me do that?
I've emailed Stardock support. After 10 days of no reply I finally noticed in the auto reply email I got that I had to send another reply with the subject NOT RESOLVED before support will respond directly to my questions. It's been 4 days since I sent that support reply. I'm still waiting patiently. I also email Symantec they said I should hear back within 24 hours. Still 4 days and nothing. Ahhhhhh, product support can be soo helpful
I haven't heard back from support yet, but I'm tracking it down myself. It seems that it is DesktopX and not IP. I've uninstalled both and cleaned out my DocsNSettings/LocalSet/Stardock/DesktopX folder and cleaned my registry and then reinstalled DesktopX. At first DesktopX would not even run. So I reinstalled scripten.exe. Then it DesktopX would Run. Then reboot, DesktopX runs, but now scripts are messed up in IE, weatherbug, and others. So I registered the jscript and all was
So now, I've restored my XP icons, unregistered the iprestore.dll, uninstalled IP and registered jscript and vbscript and all was good till I rebooted. Re-registering jscript fixes the problem till I reboot. I've sent an email to support, but there has to be a solution somewhere. I found another link with good info http://www.annoyances.org/exec/forum/winxp/t1083625219 The only thing I can think of is that something i
I know nothing about programing, but I can help you test anything you create. Thought I would add the other links that are similar and important to this discussion, so they are all in one place. Funny thing. After this morning's boot, I think most everything was fine. Then I decided to run the jscript.dll and vdscrip lines and reboot. Then script functions wouldn't work anymore. I reinstalled scripten.exe and now I'm back to good operations. What is the deal? Should I be emailing Customer support, or do they come here, track troub
