Screenshot capture software... best and free?? in WinCustomize Talk WinCustomize Forums

Hi all, Curious to know what screen capture you have found to be the best. I used a program called "PrintKey" a long time ago and seemed to work fairly well. Supported several different file formats, but was wondering if anyone out there had used anything better. I'd really like to find something free 'cuz I'm a poor college student, but would be willing to pay for the right program. Then again, it's quite likely that I may be unaware of an app. that came with Object Desktop

Thanks for your reply MiNDTRiPP. I tried both options without success. Continued fidgeting and found this still only happens when I change the position settings from Normal Window Z-ordering to Always-On-Top. I leave it on the former (default) and the icons do not disappear. The dock won't show up on top of other windows as I had hoped, but this is less bothersome than the other issue. Failing some other suggestion, I will live with it as-is. Also, my apologies to all for the doubl

Hi All, I posted this question once before, but wasn't clear on what the problem was. I'm hoping this will make more sense. I'm running ObjectDock (not "Plus") which came with the version of ObjectDesktop I purchased. I've since updated to the most recent version (not sure what the # is). I'm running XP Pro (if that matters). The theme I'm using is Paul/Mormegil's LaST (Cobalt) and I've configured the dock to stay on top of any other open windows ("Always-On-Top") rather than "Norm

All, did some research found another way to hide the recycle bin from your desktop. Run gpedit.msc and do the following: 1. Click Start, click Run, type GPEDIT.MSC in the Open box, and then click OK. 2. Under User Configuration, click Administrative Templates, and then double-click Desktop. 3. Double-click Remove Recycle Bin icon from the desktop. 4. Click the Setting tab, click "Enabled", and then click OK. 5. Reboot Recycle Bin should not be there anymore, but

Thanks yrag. Seem to remember that TweakUI had that setting, which I currently have installed. I haven't messed around with it in some while. But I ran it just now and for some reason, I couldn't find where you could hide the recycle bin. There are several options to hide various desktop icons, but the recycle bin is not one of them. I think the version I am currently running is a little out of date (maybe 1.33), but see the current version is 2.1? Might this be the problem or something el

Hah! Just realized how silly my post must have seemed from the subject line... but this does bring up another question: I used ObjectDock, along with WindowBlinds 4.4 and DesktopX/IconX to make a really clean desktop... I am running the free version of ObjectDock that came with Object Desktop which I purchased. While running OD, I have the dock set to remain on top all of the time. For some reason when I reboot, the dock loads with the icons hidden behind it. If I drag my mouse over it they reappear partially, enough for me to open the settings panel. If I reset the settings to "normal window z-order" the icons return to the top of the bar. However, since I want the dock to remain on top of all o

Winamp WAS a great product once, but uh... errr... ummm... isn't it now an AOL/some other mega-conglomerate's poser product now ...barely better than ad-ware? I'd say it's only marginally above ad-ware now. Sadly, I still use it, for lack of initiative on my part to find another player. Guess I should get off of my butt and figure out Object Media. Stardock is definitely what it's all about and have to say your work and the Wincustomize community's make Winamp's pale in comparison.

Maybe it's just me, but seems like computers (both servers and pc's) keep getting cheaper and cheaper in their construction (not just price). Quality just continues to go down as more and more components are mfr'd in Asia to ever lower standards.
