Thank you, Bam-Bam! I certainly will. I think I only contributed one or two games after I joined Realms Beyond, but I have to tell you that it's one of the best clan-type player organizations that I've come across in all my gaming. And thank you in advance to anyone else who replies to wish me well, as I may forget to check this thread again.

Greetings, I just wanted to announce that I'm leaving the empire, and GalCiv in general. I know that I wasn't a major contributor to begin with, but thought that it was only fair for me to mention my decision to the rest of you. It was fun while it lasted, but I just don't have the time for the game anymore. Take care, everyone.

I can see how it must be a problem. Honestly, between this and MMORPG staffs, I've found an area of the gaming industry that I wouldn't want to work in. Personally, considering that I'm relatively new to the game, I didn't feel guilty about extorting $4,000 a turn from those wretched Fundamentalists. But you speak of $150,000? That's absurd, and would have devastating affects on balance. Perhaps the "anomalous" bar *doesn't* need to be raised.... Though an in-game warning of what's fair pl

I must admit that I can't think of a hilarious one, but I know I have one or two favourites. Though I feel compelled to mention that Natro Mancer always seems to be an idiot no matter *what* you set his intelligence to.

I'm relatively new to the community, but I tend to agree. (I certainly wouldn't be so willing to rip off your typical minor race-- Fundamentalists who have effected me are the exception.) "Pop-up" minor races just have no chance of surviving any time past the mid-game. They just become a bonus planet to the first empire to send a troop transport over. In the case of the Fundamentalists, at least they have the original planet's population. You'd think that they'd also seize a planet'

Sure, maybe $60 at the then exchange rate (possibly a little less, I think). Though that's before you take into consideration the %15 I paid on the $64. LOL I don't really mind. I wanted the game, I didn't want to hunt for it for two weeks. Unfortunately, I haven't really been able to get into it, so it appears to have been a hasty and excessive purchase. I enjoy the game, but I just don't have the time to devote to it. Though I still could have saved significant cash by

Well, my latest game. A huge challenging. Was doing well, as one of the two evil empires. Wouldn't you know it. What random event did I get? Fundamentalists. Happened the last time I played evil, as well. I think the event is neat-- and needed. It's an additional risk that creates a true downside to playing evil. But it's also terribly frustrating when it happens to you. This time, they only nabbed one of my secondary planets. That was fine-- I could live with that. (

I wish I'd been patient-- I purchased GalCiv from EB for $64.99 (CAN) at the end of September. Even when the Canadian dollar wasn't as high, I could have saved a lot of cash by even purchasing via Stardock. I felt rushed after the EB sales rep. told me over the phone that GalCiv had been "discontinued". And not holding a credit card at the time, I didn't want to wait until I could borrow someone else's to get the game. That was the same night that I purchased Disgaea: Hour of Darknes

In my current game, I'm getting the "maximized trade routes" notification when I try to form a new route, and I don't see how this could be valid. Not counting any initial bonuses, the default number of trade routes allowed is two, correct? I currently only *have* two active trade routes, and have also researched two trade route bonus techs. So I would expect to be able to form four trade routes, now. I invaded and conquered a minor empire, recently-- my trade route with them

Greetings, Sirian and company. I am but a casual player of GalCiv, currently-- but if you're actively seeking members for Realms Beyond, I'd be interested in joining. I've taken a preliminary look at your operation, and I like what I see. I once contemplated forming my own empire. But I just don't have the time to devote. I could *make* the time, I suppose-- but then I fear that it would either become an obsession, or that it would wind up being an abandoned project down the
