Can this thread be divided or started anew? It takes forever to load through my 56K modem (I've finally managed to get to page 82 once after a lot of failed attempts. So if I haven't responded to your bon mots on pp 83 on, it's only because I haven't read them.)
Fatty Bolger
Bug? And here I was thinking invisible ships were a feature.
I haven't submitted for a while, but I haven't stopped playing. Saving up submissions for the next block, since I'll never play as many at one time as in my first one . . . which also means I can't start on the expansion for a few more days.
... thought I saw another hobbit drop in here . . . Barleyman, I need another pint . . . burp . . . . zzzz
Soldier, if you can beat Civ 3, you can beat Gal Civ. I've played both, and, if anything, I think Gal Civ is a bit easier to beat. But, then again, I stoop to bribes (though, I admit, I'm not sure they work).
Thanks to everyone for all the advice regarding alignment. I didn't try the "cheese," just used a huge map and turned saintly. ;) Another question: Can the AI "win" using the research victory condition as humans do (and, more importantly, make the humans therefore lose)? I just finished a huge masochistic game in which I seriously depleted my planets of population to create transports to finish off the Drengin ASAP since I was desperately afraid that my allies, the Torians, HAD to
I want my trade centers! (Whine, whine). The last couple of games I've been playing, my aligment was stuck on neutral the whole game even though I chose "good" for every single random event. There simply weren't enough of them to make a difference. What's a hobbit to do? Is there a setting to change the frequency of the events?
> Great hint. If only I weren't color blind. :HOT: Sigh.
Thank you for the welcome, Ray. I'm new to this kind of thing, so I appreciate forbearance for my mistakes.
I'm sorry I don't have a nickname more fitting for the Fellowship. I'm a bit of a newbie, and didn't realize what I was doing getting into a metaverse. I should have put in Fatty Bolger.
