I'm sorry Cari, but now I have a different error: extract: c:\program files\stardock\sdcentral\temp\base\appdata\altproph_campaignbtn.pn_0 (file not found) Result: installation failed
TheFrolickingMan
I am also getting a filesize error, and SD central will not let me view the report.
There is still no description for Excalibur technology on the technology discovery screen (with the Cylon-type robot). update: I am a big fat fool, I didn't notice someone two posts ahead already mentioned this. Sorry! [Message Edited]
It looks more like the Goodyear blimp than a UFO, anyway.
Greetings all, I, too, have noticed the game locking-up when you get the "share tech" UP issue. In my game, the council agreed to share 4, not 8, as someone mentioned in a previous post. So the number of techs probably doesn't matter. I also noticed a REALLY weird bug WRT a new minor civilization appearing in a star system that I had previously blown up with a terror star!! Even though I couldn't see the star system (invisible) or select it, I could still attack and conquer
Greetings, I have two possible starbase bugs to report... 1) If you intentionally disband a starbase and then attempt to place another starbase within 3 parsecs of the disbanded starbase, GC will complain that the new starbase 'needs to be at least 3 parsecs from another starbase'. (i.e. disbanding a SB doesn't seem to completely erase it from memory.) 2) This was probably already mentioned, but I've seen the AIs building SBs within 3 parsecs of each other, provided t
The scientific community is still actively debating what constitutes a planet. As arobertson mentioned, there are several objects in the solar system that are not designated planets, but are larger than some bodies that are called planets. Ganymede, for instance, is Jupiter's third and largest moon, and it is larger than both Pluto and Mercury. I think that our "planets" are planets more out of habit than anything else. In the end game, they're all just big rocks floating out there i
I already have Drengin.net, but I heartily encourage the devs to make the expansion pack. I'm trying to get my buddies to buy it...
Aha! I do have winamp2 installed, but it is a recent install. Is it likely that they packaged some new (and possibly faulty) codecs with the old WA2 binaries? I uninstalled winamp, but it didn't bother to remove any codecs. Is anyone aware of specific codecs that cause problems? If I knew which ones were troublemakers, I am pretty certain I could remove them explicitly from the control panel. :SURPRISED:
Gah! I should have mentioned that I upgraded to 1.10A.073.
Greetings all, I have always had frequent CTDs, but with 1.10.072, there are so many more that they are making it impossible for me to play the game. I enabled SmartException and I'm seeing consistent access violations, sometimes in the galciv module, sometimes in the bink dll. I had the drengin.net beta, which had fewer crashes. It seems that whatever is causing the crash was introduced between the 1.10 release and the 1.09C beta. =( I'm posting the excepti
You guys are hilarious. I feel so loved and wanted. It's a nice fuzzy feeling, but I have to admit that I'm kind of embarassed! Darth FrolickingMan has a certain ring to it, but I have to give it some thought. ;) I promise I'll take a look at all of your sites. I go frolic now, to steal candy from children or trip old women down staircases. La de da....it's all so easy when you're evil ...
Oh boy! Thanks a bunch.... ;) I will consider the empire thing, too. As long as I get to be EVIL!
Greetings all, Forgive me if the answer to my question has already been posted (in which case I am a big fat fool!) :) I do not understand how the overall metaverse score is calculated from the individual game scores. For example, I am user TheFrolickingMan (http://www.galciv.com/info.asp?accountID=694441) I have played 13 games, most on Painful or Crippling. Of those 13, eleven of them are scored above 12k, and the average is around 13k or 14k. My composite s
