Wow this new game has my full attention at the moment. I was watching GalCiv4 playthroughs from Explominate on YouTube, when I found a playthrough for this game in his library. Don't get me wrong I still love the GalCiv series. I will go back to playing GC4's Alpha, because it has a lot of potential. But ISG is a true successor to MoO2. It is very much like it, but way more advanced. The game also takes some inspiration from the GC series. It's what MoO3 should of been.

1. Does anyone know how many sectors per map size? 2a. Does anyone know how many modules per ship size? 2b. Speaking of which, which techs give you which ship sizes? Specifically I'm looking for small and medium.

Oh I agree. Industrial sectors giving +1 % is pretty lame. Same with farming sectors, just feels very underwhelming. For industry, I've been using Fusion Power Plants and Elon's Lift as hubs. But the former takes forever to build; and with the later, you only get 1 per Galaxy. There is probably more improvements we'll be able to use as hubs, but I can't tell because we don't have access to the Tech Tree yet.

Yes there are some planets that have a -2 Population Cap. If you hover your mouse over the planet, it tells you that. All Precursor Planets I've encountered have this. In GalCiv3 you could have 5 planets sponsor a shipyard. Now a single Core Planet sponsors a shipyard, and Minor Colonies sponsor Core Planets. But if you want to make most of your colonies Cores, you can with Governors. So have it. I like the feeder system, it makes sense. And it helps build powerful Core Colonies

Alright I've played long enough to have an informed opinion. Here are some of my praises and concerns: Core Planets and Colonies First let me say I love the concept of Core Planets and feeder Colonies. Could we please get the ability to see the landscape of a Colony, so we can choose wisely whether it's our best option for a Core Planet? Maybe a "Survey Planet" option, with a Survey Ship. There are way too many Class 1 a

[quote quoting="post"] Hello Stardock, First and foremost, thank you for bringing us Galactic Civilizations 4. It is great to be given the opportunity to continue expanding the Terran Republic. I am actually not a big fan of Early Access games, but decided to throw caution to the wind and bought Gal Civ 4 as soon as it was available on Epic Games. I tried out Gal Civ 4 for a few days before revisiting Gal Civ 3 to see how much Gal Civ 4 has improved from

Even with Habitable Planets set to Abundant, and Extreme Planets set to Uncommon; I've only found 1 habitable planet over Class 4, twice in 8 playthroughs. Except Extreme Planets of course. My current playthrough I found 1 clear across the sector. Of course I left my Survey/ Flagship there to guard it, until I could get a Colony Ship there (20 turns). Maybe a Frequency option in setup would help?
