Another wish list item. -UP announcements should be relevant to the play of the game. Just got a UP announcement about sectoring anomolies, but this is toward the end of the game and almost all anomolies have been discovered. I know there are a few more others out there, but can't remember off hand.

Another wish list item for Gal Civ 2. - An "Invite To:" United Planets option for Minor races. [quote]You could be building a battleship and get the next ship up, and it will still take at least twice as long to build that next ship. As far as I know, no ship of a lesser tech level takes longer to build then a ship above it in level. No matter what ship you are building, you will never be able to switch to a more powerful version and get it the next turn unless you buy it.[/q

Past midnight in Japan. Actually dreaming about gal civ and woke. What is funny is this wasn't a dream about spaceships in battle or anything like that, it was the economics of gal civ. Must be a pretty complicated equation, but how is the "Best income by tax rate" calculated? Must include a lot of sub calculations?

Posted this in another message. Sorry for the long post. What do other players think? 1.) An option to cancel all yyy social developments on all colonies. examples: a. to reduce overall maintenance costs (whatever the reason, war, generate money, etc.) b. When you take over many planets in a few turns, the enemy civs usually build extra social dev. out of your ordinary social development list. 2.) An option to build military project till one more turn till completion, t

Check to see how much you would bring in per round if you lower your development to 0% and raise your taxes. After you do that subtract mainenance cost of all social deveopments (like newsnetwork, entertainment centers, etc.) I think the highest income I could generate doing that was close to 4000 bc per month. In my current game I could bring in close to 1500 bc per month on large map. The AI can micromanage in an instant, but for players it takes too damn long. Which reminds me... -There

maybe the influx in bc flow has to do with destroying all the extra social developments on all the planets and a few rounds of 0% development, with tax rate at the maximum. This should bring in quite a lot for a few rounds if they are on the other side of the galaxy and it takes a quite a bit of time for you to reach them.

Excaliburs come too late in the game. Unless you are playing abundant on gigantic and going for military domination (the long haul), you will probably not see too many Excaliburs.

Space sharks...my question is if space sharks can destroy dreadnaughts in one shot, how in the hellz did (whoever) capture them for the zoo??? :notsure: Captured when they were babies???perhaps??? It would be nice to have a ship specifically designed to capture and maybe destroy spacesharks...like a whaling ship...(not that I agree with whale hunting)

Hey Ray. I've been writing a fan-fic. A first person perspective of the gal civ universe from one soldiers point of view. Some non-gal civ elements have been added like z coordinates, since space is 3 dimentional and not x,y only. On my third chapter. Would this qualify?

Never seen a yellow star with a non-habitable planet. Never seen a non-yellow star with a habitable planet (except for the 'pink' influence planet). Anybody else see anything different?

"Yes, you've been working too hard lately. You deserve a break. I grant you a month's vacation from Galciv playing. Enjoy." Don't do it Ray. I took a month off and went from 63rd to 500+...yikes. Minimum score for top 10 back then was 20000...now, that wont even get you in top 25...yikes ;) Well, with your playing you will make it back on top soon. Later, Joe

Play larger maps and set 1 or 2 races to a higher level. Maybe Torian or Yor, since they generally get eliminated early in the game. or Set all alignments to evil and keep the level same. Gigantic maps even at an easy level can take some time. You may not go beyond human, but most definitely dreadnaught and maybe overlord classes. Later, j4

J4 here. Don't want to get too personal, but my grandmother passed away last month and my mother had a non-life-treatening operation gone bad, so I was travelling all around trying to take care of things. Anyway things have settled down a bit and hopefully will be back in the game in a week or so. Thanks, J4
