Za H: You are correct that the question is misleading. My bad. The original point is still something to be considered (that the power of early leasing comes not from the quick build, but from getting twice as much production out of that turn than you otherwise would get). I don't think that their is a hard and fast rule to answer this question. In some situations one should probably lease, in others (especially with the largest size possible map) one should almost never do so. The

The real question about purchasing a colony ship from Mitrosoft is whether the added benefit you get from increasing your total production that turn is worth it. Mainly because for that turn you can also invest 100% in research. If you can rush to Impulse Drive this way then the extra move may very well be worth the extra cost (let me put it this way, would you pay 5bc per turn to have an extra move... yes, how about 10... yes, how about 15...?) So depending on your settings leasing may be wo

quote: When you have to buy stuff from Mitrosoft, they really screw you on the price. But sometimes, by trying to be cheap, I miss out on building a trade good or wonder cause some other civ beat me to it. Then I think "darn, should have bought it from Mitrosoft." Exactly. Mitrosoft is only good when a monopoly is involved... ;) ~SDC~

At first I thought that the idea of being able to build both a military and a civilian improvement at the same time was a major improvement to Civ type games. Then I realized that the global slider system actually makes you *less* flexible and gives you *fewer* options. This is because you usually either want one or the other (at least in the early game) and the way it works now you need to apply your choice to all of your planets rather than being able to mix and match. Remember this and adj

To further clarify and to answer my own question... There is an option in the menu for "End Turn Skips all moves remaining" (or something like that). If this is ON then hitting end turn will not move any of your ships (if they are all on Autopilot). So you should probably set this to OFF if you are having problems with this. ON was the default value for me... ~SDC~

Total bonehead question here that I'm too lazy to go digging through all the documentation to find the answer to... When I have ALL of my ships on Autopilot (right clicking on a destination) then when my turn rolls around pushing the Tab button won't cycle through the ships (it just stays on one) and if I push the end turn button all my ships will just sit there and not move towards their destination. The only way around this I have found is to take that first ship (or I usually leave
