Okay, I reinstalled everything. And this time I paid extra attention to where stardock installs. I installed it in the same folder as GalCiv and that seemed to make a huge difference. All the cutscenes work, all the extra multimedia is detected by the game, and I have the in-game music back now too! So CariElf's statement to check the directories paid off. I had Stardock in its own totally independant directory in the programs folder and that f'd everything up. So k

Yes, the entire download has been done via Stardock, and also I watched it unwind and install once the download was done. So that doesn't seem to be the problem. And here is the weird part. The cutscenes went away with later patches. When I originally installed the game, the cutscenes worked. Now I did a wipe and reinstall but once fully patched up to date, I get non-functioning cutscenes. I am clueless! Eric

Hi, folks. I've been trying for a while to get the in-game cutscenes to work. The title page animates fine, planets whirl on the display screens etc., but I can't get the in-game movies to play like for colonies, invasions, building a base, etc. Can anyone help? I've downloaded an mp3 patch but that was corrupted (it didn't get past extracting) and the coolrad or whatever utility that allows bink video made absolutely no difference.
