I agree, Valamir. The game I've enjoyed the most was one in which I lost all of my planets save 1 (one!) to the Fundamentalist event. It took several years, but I was able to re-conquer them all and win.
Soliloquy
Ships in fleets do not get the bonus. Keep your ships out of fleets until the turn you are going to move them out of the slingshot sector, then fleet 'em up and sling away.
The speed ability is nerfed too. 9 points for +2.
Yup, that was it! No bonus for fleets, unless you do what Alf and Damer wrote.
Did they nerf this in the last patch? My constructors aren't seeing a speed bonus, but my military ships are.
I also notices that they nerfed the culture palace. +50% instead of +100% culture bonus.
Possible planetary invasion bug: When using Combat Transports (haven't checked this with regular transports) and winning the normal invasion (free with no modifiers) ground battle, the entire remaining load of combat troops becomes the planet population, but I only lose one Combat Transport, and all of the remaining CT's are still fully loaded! This can have a snowballing effect, because you can then lease a new (or several new) CT's on newly acquired planet, and use them to crush even
Hey! That explains why the Scottlians got so rich when I thought I was robbing them blind playing Galactic Banker. A coupla revision ago, that is.
Any further word on Drengin.net users getting GC serials?
I used v0.99, on Monday. I didn't reboot my computer until last night.
Hi there! I'm having a similar problem. I'm running XP home, and the ntldr files in c:\ are NOT missing. I thought everything was okay, but the computer failed on reboot. I get a message stating that the file C:\windows\system32\hal.dll is missing. I'll try the XP recover suggestions above when I get home tonight, but I don't see the hal.dll error mentioned.
