This bug happens if explosiondefs is replaced and appropriate linkages to the explosion effects no longer exist. The ships are dead, but they don't vanish because they don't explode and cause their mesh to disappear. The long distance icons are linked to the mesh's activity state as well. At least this is the behavior I have noticed when I mess with explosiondefs, you may be having a different issue.

I think that giving trade ports to the Advent and Vasari at tech level two would really help homogenize this game. Which is something it's been lacking for years now.

Wow, I literally couldn't access any threads, even this page until now. :/ I saw it and was like, "If they have instructions for fixing this in that thread, how can I see it unless the forums work?" Many thanks to you guys :D
I have a set of the coupons as well, just send me a forum PM if you would like them. I highly recommend all three of their games, especially Dungeon of the Endless, which I spend the majority of my offline gaming playing. PS: The Sins forums don't seem to be functional right now. Odd.
