Just checked and the setting it enabled by default. So, this issue persists with the option enabled. Edit: Even when setting the remote window in RustDesk to fullscreen, it still does not work. Locally it works fine like with Windows own hide taskbar feature. It is the latest final version currently available (2.51).
Do you have the option enabled to reserve a line for auto hide enabled in Start11? This is under the auto hide setting.
Interesting idea; I'll test that. Have seen this option but in the horrible German translation it seemed to have nothing to do with that so I left it in its default setting. Talking about translation: is there a way to force Start11 to use the English language in the UI by defaul
I am not a fan of all of Stardocks past decisions either, but I am around here quite some time and know who is who, mostly. When there is no answer at all it often means they cannot or will not change something and do not want to point you all too directly towards this until you ask. However, you are free to ask again and see what the answer is and why. I am not coming here often today as a result of past experiences but some things somtimes are fixed. And this is a very obvio

Hello, there is a less common issue when using Start11 with hidden taskbar on a PC over a remote connection (in my case, using RustDesk): when I hide the taskbar using the Windows function, it works flawlessly. When I allow Start11 to enhace the taskbar, disable Windows own hide taskbar feature and use the one from Start11, it immediately stops working to show the taskbar when the mouse cursor comes to the bottom edge of the screen and does not bring it back up by any means. This only
From what I know, Fences don't delete off your desktop files or shortcuts when it does restore layout snapshot. So your files on your desktop should not physically be deleted off. Only the layout will changed. Please check if something else is deleting off those files or shortcut. Thank you, Basj, Stardock Community Assistant
That's how I remember it, too. And why I think that there is an issue si
After the purge and new installation, now also some shortcuts keep dissappearing from my desktop as a new issue. I double checked using the File Explorer and with it the Desktop folder and they are not only visually gone but deleted. I guess, this is due to the strange resets Fences does. My guess is, that not only the Fences are resized but reset to a prior snapshot which did not contain the new shortcuts.
So, I tried to purge and reinstall and tested a few days now and already have seen some of the issues (not started at boot, resized Fences, lost icons – see initial post) again. That does not seem to work or make any difference so far.
Yeah, I know a new version is incoming. At least they finally have something like a notifier now. But I try to avoid beta versions when not absolutely neccessary; enough issues in the final versions for me. =(
Ah, finally found that option – only on the enhanced taskbar in context menu. Very unintuitive not putting this in the settings at least also, as usual. :-D Thanks, but I did not like it; feels strange and maybe with that approach Object Dock would make more sense (if not for the experience we made with it several years ago before they canceled it and the current pricing horror going on at Stardock). However, I guess I keep the enhanced taskbar at least for the additiona
Hello, can someone confirm that it is not possible to create a floating taskbar when using the Windows setting to automatically hide the taskbar? I have tried several times following the instructions of the blog entry published for this some weeks ago already and never succeeded. Then I have read a comment, that this is not possible in this combination. Can someone confirm this? No guessing, please! Best regards, Tim
Hello, Sorry to hear you are having issues. For all these issue on Fences 4 while on Windows 11 24H2 latest updates. Even when that would work, this would not help me. I am definitely not buying Fences 5 for obvious reasons menti
Hello, to all of you wondering: yes, there currently are several issues with Fences 4 (4.22) on Windows 11 24H2 (Pro, 26100.3037 on my end). Those just started suddenly some weeks ago and most likely are caused by a Windows update (my guess). There are dozens of reports around the net already, mostly of newer date so that would fit. Including: - Fences not started at boot sometimes (4 out of 10 cases, maybe) - Fences context menu entries missing for unknown rea
Is is a yearly purchase then, okay. Not interested. Will simply unsubscribe the newsletter then since it is nagging so hard to buy it. Would be better if one could choose what news to receive and for what products. Can be closed.
Hello! =) You know, every second email i receive from Stardock tells me to buy Object Dock already! Kind a bit annoying and since i only use Start11 and Fences 4 i do not see a reason to buy the whole suite which is much more expensive. However, things have changed lately with the new licence system. While i could simultanously install my applications on five independant systems before, is now need a licence for each or to buy the new multi-device-licences which cost me
Hello Basj, unfortunately i do not have the time and means to do a video currently (pandemic and what not) and was just looking for a quick tip to continue working. Yet, it is REALLY easy: i set up two Fences, let's call it "A" and "B". I then set the default filter for shortcuts to send them to Fence "A" but they are send to Fence "B" instead. Sending files and folders only using the default filters works correctly for all file types except shortcuts (LNK).
Hey, i am using Fences version 3.0.9.11 on Windows 10 Pro 20H2 x64 . While working mostly as expected, maybe aside from the messy settings dialogue, i found one thing that seems to be a real bug . I created several fences on my desktop and assigned several file types to them using the default filters and just changing the target fence. That works for all files so far except Shortcut
It is such a drama with Objectdock for years now ... however, now we know the reason at least. Not that the dock always had ... "issues"! [e digicons]:annoyed:[/e] In each version. And some bugs are open since ... ah, i forgot. So, maybe we should gather some good reasons to show Stardock why they should further support the dock; and re-writing it sounds like a really, REALLY good idea to me as a solid basis! I go first: 01.) Remember your companies name</stro
You most likely want to go to: 01. Settings 02. "On my dock" 03. More Options (bottom right) -> "Show system tray icons on my dock" If that does not help, right-click the dock itself (not an icon on it) and enable "View -> Show system tray icons" (however, this is the same thing accessed differently i guess). If that also does not help, try right-click the dock again and go to "configure system tray icons". Here you have to select the ones it shou
Unfortunately there is no reset option; and if, it mostly resets everything. There is a better way: in the registry at "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Stardock\Fences" the settings of Fences are stored. If you delete the contents of the "Rules" folder there (except "(Default)", it will delete the rules set. Its good to kill the Fences process before and restart the whole system after.
That MIGHT be the problem. However, you have not much detailed informations here. But if we say you have your desktop and a fence, a rule can be set to say, for example, "new shortcuts (or any other type of files) go to desktop", they won't go to the fence. Especially when you have "keep rules applied at all times" checked. When the rule says all new items go to "Fence 1" (the name of the Fence is what you would place here), then they would automatically be moved in that Fence EVEN when y
I would first try to look in the task manager if there is an ObjectDock process still running. If no, then maybe the whole application crashed and a support ticket might help. If yes, then the program is still running and just not visually displayed. I guess you have checked auto-hide settings first; if not, try that. Besides, as it then might be a problem with the type of rendering used by ObjectDock or something regarding general display and/or HDMI transport, you should also update your gr
Seems to be a bug still in the current version, as i have a similar problem ( https://forums.stardock.com/454035/page/1/#3481126 ). Aside that, it is also possible that this font setting is badly labeled and does its changes to another portion of the program as its name would suggest.
