I found another way of reproducing the problem with the unintendedly selection of other desktop items sometimes. This time it happened when i selected just two items, shift-deleted them (by holding down the Shift key and then pressing the Delete key on my keyboard) and directly after the both items were deleted, the selection moved to another (most likely random) item without me clicking somewhere. Maybe support can try this instead the methods mentioned before.

Maybe you have set some rules for that type of files and that fence that exclude the files from the fence? You may try and check "Sorting / organizing" in the Fences settings; this might possibly happen unintended (for testing you can deactivate simply all rules temporarily and see what happens then).
No need to shut down any other program. Think of it as if you would have two windows open on the desktop; when one has focus and you click the other one, it loses focus to it. It is the same thing with maximized application and even the desktop, what you click becomes focused. In this case it also means that the desktop, which is also behind the maximized application, will be brought to top when focused (even accidently) what then forces the maximized
Same here (v2.13). However, it is not the same thing with every start. Often it appears normally (even it seems it takes way to long time and mostly is the last thing finishing loading itself even there are wether much fences nor much things to load; but this is known already also). In some cases then, it looks like Windows is loading eternally just because there is no icon/element seen on the Desktop. After one click, it shows up then. Windows 8.1 Pro "Update" (x64)
You should try out the settings first. You can set the dock to another edge of the screen or even another monitor if you use more than one like me. You even could set it freely anywhere as "floating" (found under "Position"). If that isn't to your taste, you can change the behaviour for bringing it to the front (found under "Accessibility"). For example set different hotspots or set them to a delay ("Configure hotspots") so the dock won't react immediately. Also you can change the way
Make sure to delete the following after you uninstalled (and before re-installing) and do a restart after: - "C:\Program Files (x86)\Stardock\ObjectDock" - "C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Stardock\ObjectDockPlus" - "C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Stardock\ObjectDock" In the registry: - "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Stardock\ObjectDock" You can also use a tool like CCleaner on top for temp dirs and such, but this should be enough. It maybe coul
Not really a solution but on Windows 8.1 Pro "Update" (x64) and Adobe CreativeCloud 2014 the Forms Central appears only one as a running application on my ObjectDock (2.20). From my experiences with such, ObjectDock has some problems with showing running apps sometimes; especially when you set it up for a preview view where it shows the whole content as it is of a running app or open folder. But i also found that this more often is caused by the applications because they open special
Speaking of a second monitor: when you enter a game fullscreen, your mouse cursor is not seen anywhere outside the maximized game screen, but it DOES sometimes move around even on a second display (activated or not and shutting the second one down completely does not solve this as the cursor virtually moves around in the background still). When the "invisible" cursor is on the second screen instead your gaming screen and you click, you virtually click your desktop and the maximized applicatio
01. Open settings 02. Go to your dock that hosts the system tray icons 03. Select "On my dock" 04. Click on "System tray options" 05. Deselect "Move the system tray to the left side of the dock"
01. Shut down the dock completely (Quit) 02. Go to "C:\Users\Tim\AppData\Local\Stardock\ObjectDockPlus" 03. Copy the folders content 04. On the new machine, close the dock also 05. Go to the same place and insert (and overwrite) the mentioned files 06. The "disappearing items" problem most likely is what we discuss over here in this thread " https://forums.stardock.com/454417/page/1/#3488962 " since when someone is not aware of this problem, it looks like they disappear just automagically. This is not fixed as of version 2.13. For the other problem the different restoration options normally do work for this. However, it is somewhat hard to find out which
Glad to hear so much new additions to this at least! Thought i was the only one since support always told me they cannot reproduce this (and they seem to still cannot). Should have posted it here earlier i guess. It is a little bit tricky but just trying around five minutes or such most likely will produce at least one case of this. I had hoped the developers would have more insight in this than me. The shift-deleting is what i also experienced and why i think this is
I know the tool did not fix the reported problem. What i meant was that you are also looking for errors that are reported by DirectX diag and such and therefore can tell the people to reinstall it first to see if this causes the failure – or other needed APIs and such. I am not a English native; maybe it put it just a bit wrong. I run it all the times i was asked for. ;-) I wouldn't stay in your way when you're trying to help me. I just know what i do ... but okay, who d
I personally reported this in by ticket two or three times already. Your tool found no problem on my systems as there is none – it is Fences itself causing this as it immediately stops happening with Fences uninstalled. I was told there is some kind of "internal ticket" for this but that's it. Issue is nearly two years old for me; happende already with Fences 1. The problem with the screenshots is: what do you expect to see from them? Two desktop items selected? That
Finally some people stand up and agree on this so they cannot say they cannot reproduce this or this is just happening for me. So thanks for the support to BlueLightAlarm and StarDock_com4568 ! Looking at the problem it seems to be very strange and hard to reproduce, sure. But when understood, it is a real thread. How easily i found two items in the tras
I guess there may be new limitations with Windows 8 and up, okay. And they said STARDOCK is not able to do better (what does not mean others can like in the examples above). At least they are so honest to admit that. On the other side many reported stuff is not colliding with Windows at all (a not working close button as Spyrofunk put it for an easy example). So you guys tell may be right and it is really time to move on. Sadly you even cannot sell this products.
I dont know what to do more. I was hoping for the communities support withing the forums. However, when Stardock tells me it cannot do a better product than this, what for should i continue? It's a sad thing since other companies can do better and offer for free as mentioned above. I would prefer Nexus dock over Rocket Dock since the later is not worked on for more years than even ObjectDock. It is a bit messy and has far to much senseless features but does way better than ObjectD
First time someone tells me that more is not possible; that is quit a new situation then. But i was wondering since some of my friends use the same system but the Nexus dock that does not have this issues and even still offers a free version. However, i prefer ObjectDock so far. If you really cannot fix this issues, you may close this thread as it has no further use. I am afraid that one day ObjectDock will lose many features as Windows surely won't be easier to modify in the futu
There is a new beta update out ...
I was asked by support if the new beta does anything listed above better or even solves it. After much testin i am afraid it does not. I found a single point that seemed to work better. After the beta is now official, i guess i can update this here now also. However, when looking at the changelog it is no surprise nothing above is fixed because it does not even mention anything close to it. I do not know why they even asked then. Anyway; in the end it is an update we all waited for lo
Bugs: 03. Tray icons: Added a new and better example this time definitely caused by Object Dock above.
Update: 03. Desktop loading time: While doing several advised tests with the new 2.13 version, i found out by chance that the problem with extended desktop loading times i thought that ObjectDock is causing is instead caused by Fences. I also found a few posts on the forums that seem to describe this also. As of this moment, this is uncertain. Added above.
Since everything seems to be said already, i just like to express my support for the people complaining – i am one of them. This should at least have been announced. Besides that, there should be someone taking care of all us long time customers. Buy everything a second or third time is not a good solution. I am not even sure this is correct to change those licence model for a already paid application in such a drastic way and without any warning. Probably we may see further information
Update: This also happens with 2.13 i found by chance today; was using 2.12 before. Can be reproduced as mentioned above.
Bugs: 02. Wrong double marking (Addendum 2): Maybe this also has do to if someone has enabled the selection box feature available in the newer Windows versions so you can check the checkboxes to mark several item instead of holding STRG or Shift to do so. There could be a context here since this is deactivated by default and most users leave it this way but i use it. I was not able so far to check it. Added above.
