The true lifeblood of the universe is a think cold glass of Nesquik chocolate milk. Not the premade stuff. The mixture of whole milk and 4 giant spoon fulls of the blessed powder from the almighty fuzzy bunny

Sorry about that I pasted the wrong one. Here is the collection. And if you grow a ton of hair and sharp teeth at the sight of the full moon do not open the below link, only for those that need the powers of lunar inspiration. http://nssdc.gsfc.nasa.gov/photo_gallery/photogallery-moon.html

Congrates Admins on taking a stand on the moderstation. As strictly a digital artist I prefer a high standard of acceptance of walls. It is a driving force to work harder. Yes at times it may seem that walls are being excepted because of a trend, but I see it as this. Just because 10 walls are accepted and are trendy does not mean they are not high quality. There may of been an addition 50 walls of the same trend that where moderated. Yes some artists may get upset when their work is moderated,

I totally agree with the moderation bar being raised a few notches. One of the things I find to be a driving force in creating more intense and high quality works is to get past the moderators. When there is no moderation or a low level you are not pushed to work harder, and also visitors tend to surf thru a lot of works to find higher quality ones. To me it was nice to be moderated a few times. Damn does this mean I am a closet massicist? Oh well no surprise. But yes increasing the level of acc

This is interesting, there will now be a rash of themes geared for 1600x1200 showing up and the people that are limited to 1024x768 will be screaming. A while ago I decided to limit the size walls I put in zips and focused on 1600, 1152, and sometimes 1280's and within 2 weeks was getting emails of people complaining they wanted 1024's. Maybe it would be a good idea for someone to run a pole and see what exactly is the mass majority of the screen resolutions being run. For it seems every few mon

Well a little insight, I have an old P2 450 mhz that is now strictly a file server, then a P3 800 that is a secondary machine. The new P4 1.7 is the main system. As for insight, if I go to render an image to full poster size on the P3 it takes 5 days, while on the P4 it takes just about 2 hours. Now you may not be working with large files or rendering, but think of the next year or two, or the delay in waiting for files to open, or apps to open. In a day calculate the amount of time you wait for

I look at wincustomize as a specialty store and the internet as the mall. If you are looking for something specific and you do not find it here, check out the rest of the net. True there is a decline in community sites that offer speed of view and download, along with some moderation. BUt if you want the off the wall or a different style surf thru the unmoderated site or the artists sites themselves. There are a rash of authors that only post a select number of skins to try and draw people to th

I also saw that statement and was at a lose for what to say in the previous thread. To me the incorporation of themes and skinz, for other apps is a benefit to all, for even if a theme or skin is generated/created for a competative app, it draws attention to the app, the site, and inturn the stardock apps. Well that is my thought. An open forum and gallery of moderated and high quality skins, themes, and walls is beneficial for all and draws more attention to the part companies involvement. Oh e

Take a look at some of the litestep themes, here and one devianart.com along with the fading shadow of skinz.org. I know I had seen several matrix themes. You can then convert them over to desktop x...And yes sounds like a lot of work

It is strange how people tend to totally forget about Xerox's innovation for the GUI. And yes I remember making one of the point locator pens from parts at Radio Shack for my atari 800 back in the days of cassette tape drives for storing files. Wish I still had that thing laying around for it looked like a Cross pen that went thru an electronic blender.

Community kicks Mobiusco in the rear, since he does not post skinz or themes, only walls. Why is he posting here. He says in defense. True I do not post them for they are totally created for my needs and never apply to those of others. At least what I found.

That depends on what desktop apps you are interested in using, such as litestep, desktop x or etc. If there is one you are specifically interested in, let us know and I am sure there are a lot of people that will help you and point you to some good tutorials. If you are new to the shell apps, definetly read the manuals first. That is probably the best advise anyone can give. Other than that, figure out what is the most important things for you on the desktop, the apps you run the most, then
