As has been remarked in another thread, ping is probably not reliable enough to tell if you are going to have a choppy game. My upload speed is ok, and the pings looked fine - yet choppygame , every time. Actually, I can live with that. But also, I had a few other annoyances that *sometimes* happen in SP as well, like the character losing focus. Having that happen every other mouseclick in MP is game over. System messages you have to click away every few seconds, and just won't

Sounds like a good plan to me.
What's with the message that keeps popping backup up every 2-3 seconds when someone gets desynched - I must have clicked it away at least a 100 times, since it was a very tight game otherwise - but after a while I just got too annoyed with it - becomes unplayable. Can't they limit the number of such near-identical messages to 1? I believed it the first time. Argh.
Yeah, I just played an online game, but I really have to check my firewall setups too - the lag was pretty horrible without gates opened specifically. It runs as-is, but only if you like walking through molasses. Oh, and don't start rotating the map, with severe lag either. That'll take a while to finish. [e digicons][/e]
I have seen the trailers and it looks like crap.
Looks like a playable version of that Blender movie, Big Bucks Bunny. [e digicons][/e]
I'll check it out later today as well. Rooks are my all-time favourite dying animation. Can't get enough of it. [e digicons]:d[/e]
The Rook = der Turm, seriously?
That's the usual chess translation, no? Same in Dutch, de Toren. What would you have suggested? I see someone else is already doing a Dutch one, BTW. [e digicons][/e]
Remove the Ai Split the gold of the player who left between the other remaining same team players Split the gold per second of the player who left between the remaining same team players Drop the items of the player who left at crystal
Sounds very reasonable, and technically feasible, too. Hope someone relevant reads this. Also those uneven games don't sound very appealing, TBH. Haven't played online yet, but that's not a very appealing
I'm not sure if Magic restistance - although a very obvious addition to armour - would keep the *total* game balance or suddenly produce Uebers. I'm afraid the latter. My generic idea about armour is that it makes some sense later in the game, but I prefer +health items way more, they always save my butt, whereas armor only gets me killed due to some sense of false security, I think. One extra suggestion would be - kill the possibility to own more than one helmet, body piece,
I agree that Normal is already the same thing as Hard&Nightmare, without the cheats. You *could* make the AI more effective, IMO, by just a few simple tricks, pathing problems aside (those should be fixed anyway, and ASAP). One trick would be for the AI to wait with Priest&Angels, but only release them together with Catapults, as soon as it can - that's a very effective anti-Priest farming ploy. It could also be provided a memory of the Human player's movements in prev
Erebus, since he is the biggest PITA to fight against, and both good at running away, and going in for the opportune kill. He is very reliant on the right minions and gear at the right points in the game, although that goes for Rook as well, but I like my Erebus *mobility* (teleport 25 times per game or so, use speed items -always on the move, if not misting a chokepoint).
Plus, it's one of the few moves the AI is pretty good at, IMO. And pretty effective, since it's invariably done at a very inopportune moment, for you. I did hate it with a passion initially as well, but it makes good sense, and keeps you on your toes.
I've had some fun matches on Exile, though they're usually only fun in the beginning and middle of the game, once it's time to push, it becomes an enormous pain in the ass.
Hi all (first post, oops) True, you can really get stuck at the chokepoint, and run out of steam. I try to hold back my reinforcements, let them (I usually fight 2 opponents on Normal) get Priests, while I hold back mine, until I can unleash at least all the way up to Catas, but preferably Gi
