For a game that sold 100's of thousands the lack of players playing open games online is sad. Went online a few days ago during prime time and had 4 players total online. Next day 12.......

look back at the old post about 1.1 the ones before Yarlen release the office 1.1 change log. You will see that they talked about match making system and what they call "ahoy" now which doesnt work in beta
Beta was a way for the devs to extend the time they needed to fix the game. Before 1.1 was suppose to have game matching and the ability to bypass the need to do port forwarding. Currently the beta has many many bugs. Its broken more then ever. Hence the beta title which allows them to release a broken patch. So the original 1.1 with game matching and router reconfig will probably release sometime next year, maybe never. The new 1.1 maybe release in a few months. Before sc2
Looking at the major changes. Fighters and bombers will be better now. Who does this help the most? Advent Flak nerf by almost HALF Subs got nerf. RA nerf. No more FREE ships Vassari was the only race that could take on Advent. Now all I'll see everyone play is advent. So repulse is a channeling ability. Can they move while doing this ability? Is there a channeling time delay? Can the channeling be interrupted if attacked? Is this because JJ
First you can load unix os on windows mobile phone. The iphone is good if you dont know what you are doing. Its a dumb phone (not a smart phone) for the masses. 2 big changes that the I phone is finally doing that has been available for YEARS is over the air syncing and 3g. 3G is 8 times faster then edge. I can get 1 MB or faster downloading. Makes a difference when you tether a laptop to your phone. Tethering for all you iphone users is the ability to use your phone
GO online Do a survey of people who get crashes. Most happen when playing online. So for all you single players playing that game. Thats great the game doesnt crash for you. Try playing a few games online and see what happens then. To minimize crashes, Restart the game after each game. Seems like stardock doesnt like people playing consecutive games. Many have posted restarting before, but its sad that you have to restart a game to minimize crashes. Stardo
But you still lose all the sounds. Yay the game continues, but no sound
The migration feature is another problem. It doesnt work most of the time, and when it does you lose all sound. Whats that about?
You can control the fake one and makes jumps, but the fakes dont last too long.
When the ability is enabled, another illuminator will show up. It will take the same amount of damage as a regular one, but do zero damage. Ability is activated when the real illuminator takes damage or you can manually enabled it. The fake illuminator will last a minute or two.
When making the statement that the "vast majority" doesnt crash, are you counting the people who play single player or those who just play on ico. Again I would suggest that stardock or ironclad do a simple survey of those people who play online. Ask them if they crashed in the last week or so.
Trackiet, I think you may be confusing a crash with players leaving the game. This is something entirely different.
I understand the difference. Just trying to offer reasons why ico has seen a declined of players.
Major Game Flaws: 1. Game crashes. Some say its your system or your video drivers, but I think its a MAJOR flaw in the net code. Try playing more then 1 online is just asking for the game to crash. Its BS to say it affects a minority of people online. Just go to the lobby and ask people if their game crashes while playing online. I would say 80-90% of the people will say that they have experience a game crash in the last day or so. Maybe thats why they say if affects a small amount of
Repulsion + Malice or Cleansing Brilliance. If you micro right you hardly lose ships in your fleet. As for tech, havent had the pleasure.
bombers and subs will stop repulse
RA done right cant be beat. Done right means they have 20+ phase with subs
HC and caps are overrated. Can easily win a game without them
hopefully they do what blizzard does with bnet. Have two ways to play. Ladder games: Games based on win lost rate Custom games: What the current system is
I didn't see Sins or Stardock as the focus of this thread...
hence posted in the off topic area
fanboys will be fanboys Sins fanboys and SC2 fanboys will always disagree even though they both games have many many things in common that make them great games. However I'm glad devs for Sins are continuing to develop the game.
Stardock and Ironclan are in the business to make money. If stardock discovers that adding an extra fast game speed in mp, they get twice the sale, then no matter how many of the fanboys who like the original game speed and feel of the game cry and whine and how they will swear off future expansion, stardock will do it. Yup thats right they will. Its all about the money. Read frogboys rant about piracy. How many of you played a 2-3 hour game where you are about to do an epic battle, b
Not being able to host at home is a user issue, but how about if you dont control the router, ie in school, or at a public ap. But that will be all solved hopefully with 1.1
If stardock continues to have players be the host, whats stops the host from just leaving the game and ruining the fun for all in a ffa. I've played plenty of games when the host just leaves cause they lost a few planets. And dont tell me that BS of 30 sec migrating garbage. It works maybe 30% of the time. The 1.1 patch will have NAT-T to allow anyone to host regardless of router/firewall settings, so this should become a non-issue.
So anyone can host. Thats great. How abo
Advent homeworld was desert. And Vasari was volcanic :/
hmmm guess I didnt read that in dept with Vasari. Review states they like to rule their cities from planet orbit. It didnt state it was volcanic. If vasari hw was volcanic why would they make vasari research volcano to colonize it?
Well the games still be hosted by players or a stardock server@ trackietYou don't seem to get it. One cannot simply "flip a switch" and change a game from P2P to client-server. Please stop asking the same redundant questions, they are getting annoying to say the least...the Monk
When doing an auto matching making system, stardock will decide who gets to be the host. Whats so hard about making a stardock server being the host since the auto matching making program has to
A match-making service is in the works and should be up sometime this summer. This is something that could be used by all games distributed through Impulse, in particular Sins and The Political Machine 2008 will be the first two games to use it, followed by Demigod once that is released to beta.
Well the games still be hosted by players or a stardock server
