A little late, been shoveling snow for days, but have to say the Purple planet > all. Not all "toxic clouds" are brown, we all know chlorine makes an ugly green/yellow cloud. Nitrogen Dioxide is a pretty cool shade of red, and you wouldn't want to breathe it in. Iodine could have made this one purple.

The problem is if the CPU can't gang up 7 v 1 then you will be dominating in no time. Think of it like you are the biggest bully on the block and everyone eventually decides to stand up to you. While I agree this shouldn't be the case from the first second of play, I like it over the alternative. Locking teams just allows you to pick off the closest team while the rest slowly wait for you to build a war machine and run them over.

Love the mod Uzii, just had to say it again. Great work. I know I'm a little late to the defense on this, but the chance at a negative from exploration is great. In fact, I would like more random events in this game. I don't want an invincible Borg cube to come through and rip up my fleet or anything :) but it would be nice if the devs could put a little terrorism into the game (if a planet is 70% aligned with your empire, that still leaves some angry folks. not to be picky, but the difference between a mine "structure" and a short-ranged turret is? mines would be best in my opinion if you could put them outside the build radius of the planet, where you couldn't with a structure.
