Okay I have followed those instructions and there is no menu on the left. There are two menus near the top of the screen, neither of them leading me to anything 'free'. This is completely ridiculous - there should be an obvious 'Registration' link on the My Colors page so I don't have to go on a wild goose chase looking for one. I have the same problem - on my laptop, I have Windows Vista Home Premium (32 bit), and whenever I run WindowBlinds 6, Aero is disabled when I bring the laptop from standby mode or whenever I reboot. When I go to Preferences on the desktop, I get the classic preferences pane, and not the new webby one, and the only choices are Windows Classic and Windows Aero Basic. I am unable to install SkinStudio 5 - I keep getting this 'you need to install this with admin privileges' error. It comes right after the 'Windows Blinds is not installed' alert message. I am already logged in as the admin. I have Windows XP SP 2 and WindowsBlinds 6. I need SkinStudio 5 to convert some msstyles to wba. Hi, thanks for the responses. Shortly after submitting my post, I installed 5.5 and so far things have been working fine. I am going to buy a new graphics card today, so hopefully the problem won't surface again anytime soon. I'm going to look for that article that listed graphics cards that support per-pixel borders.
I've been having this problem on and off since Christmas. One day, in December of 2006, I booted up my computer only to have the taskbar and window borders flicker black and then revert to Windows Classic.
