I switched to steam when impulse was sold. I have close to 60 games on steam and have never had a problem. I play offline most of the time but my minor sons prefer online for scores and chat. Now steam is also helping the smaller game developers with greenlight. Steam is not evil, it is a platform that has done a lot of good for pc gaming. Stardock has already said they are using it, how many times can the same people come in here a
In FE or historically? The French nobility at Agincourt would disagree, for the latter
Just because I can't stand an inaccuracy based on partial facts. Agincourt was an exception not the rule, (Poitiers and Crecy for that matter as well). The English longbows were successful because they were deployed effectively in difficult terrain, behind a barrier or obstacle that crippled the speed and mobili
I disagree... with the whole AI is broken idea. most games I've played 1 or 2 of the AI players generally outplay me to the mid game stage and then I've had to deal with their superior armies at some point. I had in one game a stack of doom with a champion and 8 Juggernauts come at me... only reason I could stop it was I happened to have an early dragon in one of my stacks that I had to crash Civ techs to get. Last game the AI had complet
Monsters will attack the AI, Not so much with cities or outposts but they will attack units. I used that to my advantage in todays game. On Challenging setting (both AI and overall level) Yithril managed to build a subtantial lead over me (way better starting position) and the Declared war. They only had one path of attack and I managed to capture one of thier outposts as early warning and prepared to switch to unit building to defend. The
1. the first 20 moves in the game are pretty well set in stone for me. That can be easily programed into the game to give a "competative" start. in genaral the first priorites are a) get a city established. - 2 things to look for... best nearby tile for the city, any nasty monster threats within 8 cells. If a tile meets a minimun critiera I'll settle immediatly if not i'll take 2 turns to "explore" to idneify if there is a nea
Oh, I just spoke to your RNG. It said you had used up all your good numbers getting a working installation out of a corrupt installer. If I were you I would sleep under the bed, tonight.
HAAA HA!
Leave them as is. Juggernauts are one of the very few AI units that I approach with caution. A stack of Juggernauts is about the only thing outside of dragons I'll run away from unless I'm using my "A" stack. even with the "A" stack I expect to take losses.
I agree. spells are not underpowered or trivial. used well they give you a decisive edge needed to tackle the larger monsters or units faster and earlier than you normally would be able to. Shrink is the best spell in the game, quickly followed by Blind, Haste, Heal, growth, and most of the others. I've used Paragon as well but sparingly....
same problem here... anyone have a solution?
personally I'm a little dissapointed with the campaign... you'd think they could come up with more interesting scenarios other than. "Rush to capture planet "x" before you run out of cash"
Thats nothing more than a Fusion-boosted fission weapon. Not pure fusion.
umm short lesson in nuclear physics... fission is splitting atoms by bombarding heavy metals with neutrons splitting the heavy atom into two smaller atoms... the reaction creates a small net loss in total mass which is converted to energy the explosion... Fusion is taking two small atoms and squishing them together at extremely high tempureaturs and pressures to create one larger
Really? You can't observe bacteria reproducing and gaining traits in the lab? Or moths changing color over fifty or so years? quote] yes and exactly what do single cell organizms and moths have to do with hippos and whales? you can reasonable make an assumption that what works for one experiment will work across all species, but that isn't direct evidence... which is my point... to truely follow the scientific model you need direct evidence. the majority of the ev
According to the National Academy of Sciences,Some scientific explanations are so well established that no new evidence is likely to alter them. The explanation becomes a scientific theory.... ... In science, the word theory refers to a comprehensive explanation of an important feature of nature that is supported by many facts gathered over time. Theories also allow scientists to make predictions about as yet unobserved phenomena.
thats What I said!
This is incorrect. Evolutionary theory predicts a number of things. For example, whales are really, really related to hippos. We validated this through molecular testing (DNA analysis) and lo and behold, later found fossils that linked the two orders. Evolutionary science makes tons of hypotheses. We can also observe evolution at work on the laboratory, as well as the moth example presented earlier. Evolution is not that slow of a process, really.
Yes but you can't actua
A scientific theory is pretty much as good as what most people term "law". The word "theory", when used in the scientific community, describes something that is believed to be 99%+ true (ie the THEORY of relativity, the THEORY of quantum mechanics). The media and most people who aren't scientists tend to take the word theory and run with it and its modern, everyday meaning.
No a theory means that there is no evidence fundamentaly contradicting the supposition of the theor

oh and IconPackager doesn't seem to be able to save or save as anymore either... program crashes when you do that...
still having the same issue... it actually appears that Developer and Packager aren't quite talking to eachother yet. Icon developer is showing the files as working and the colors changed but any file that Developer has touched is no longer recognized by Packager... it looks like they have a long way to go on Developer beta
I'm new to object desktop suite and will admit I'm still feeling my way around... I'm managed to figure out most of the applications so far but still have a long way to go... but I really wanted to give some feedback for the Iconpackager/Developer beta. first Impressions.. I know it's a beta but WOW is it ever a pain to use. first of all the link between Packager and Developer doesn't work... any button or menu option saying to change color or edit icons etc does
Thanks, I'll give it a try when I get a moment away from work... As far as the Beta, I've done beta's before so I totaly get that there are risks with beta software... not a biggie ;p finding these little things is why there ARE Beta's :)
:D I remembered to do that, thanks... when I get a response I'll post it here
yea I'll do that... I just typically start here as I hate it when people ask me questions that I've already answered. but it appears theres a legitmate issue and it's not just me being stupid. (which is normally the case)
