Hi all, I am currently working on an awesome new skin, but I have two problems currently bugging me: 1. How to set the height of the task bar? It is currently too small. 2. How can I set the height of rolled up windows? I have tried changing both "Caption bar" height and "Size when rolled up", but I can't seem to find the right mix (and moving incrementally by 1px does not seem to work). Using latest version of everything.
Helmers
Using Windowblinds 6 beta, and it is a UIS 2 skin, if that helps. :)
I try setting "Size when rolled up" in Skinstudio 6.0 beta, but it does not seem to respect this value. Is there a way to make this work?
I used to stick with IE, because that some pages didn't look right. But now there are more and more pages that use alpha-blended PNG images, and they need something else than IE. Now I love Firebird because of the tabs, the simple google search feature, and the "auto-download" feature. Also, it is good when the web browser is *not* integrated into the system. Makes me feel safer.
There should be an option when uploading to choose licence. LGPL/GPL would let anyone do the updates and re-publish it. Also a patch would be no problem. Or he can choose to just allow patches. Whatever rocks his boat. But there shouldn't be a "patching" system without the author giving the OK.
What I wonder is what happened to Phoenix? First there were new releases all the time, and now it is so quiet... But Mozilla really is a good browser, I hope they don't stop working on it now that it is so close to surpassing IE in features & coolness.
Woo! Finally the speed is almost up to par with the Visual Styles. Now this is a good thing. And since it skins the command line, it even have an edge. However I can't click the menu options in the command line. You know, like "properities". Anyway, this should be enough to drive most VS-people back to WB. I will stick with it for now, at the very least. PS: Colony rocks! <i
From what I've heard, it have problems with Windows Messenger on some insatllations. Including mine.
w00t! Ph03n|x r0x0r! Someone should comment on this as well. IMHO the best browser for 'nix right now.
Hmm, I should hang around more. Who is Mike? Anyways, congrats
Does that mean that the 40 drivers are okay on windows XP? Because I don't seem to get as fluid anymation as you had... Do you have a database of some sorts where you list what combinations that are good? Yeah, I love the new WFX icon, it really needed a new one
Oww This reminds me of GKrellM that I use in Linux. Except that this is 10x the eye candy. Great idea, freeform skins rock!
Sweet. I haven't had any troubles with the skinbrowser, but I'm glad that they've made it even better.
Well, just chill, you noisy man up there in the thread. Because the program is very new, and the guys behing it are doing their best. Patience is one of the virtues, you know
Right on
...and that is why I like WinCustomize and Stardock. Because I feel that when I use their products, pay or no pay, they value my opinion. And the site is driven with the goal of being self-supportive, not shoveling in as much cash as possible. So, keep it up. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/sb.gif" bord
Well, now, lets not let this get out of hand, ok? And I think that God made it pretty clear what is the right thing to do. Anyways, p2p networks are used mainly for downloading lots of music, images or movies. I believe the Internet would be a faster place, and everybody would be friendlier, if you had to know the person you were borrowing music or movies from. And then it would be just like sharing record tapes. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/joke.gif" border=0 ALIGN
Sounds like a job for T-man
I am having the same problem. It downloads with blazing speed, or it doesn't, but it think it does, and then the archieves are very small and incomplete.
Okay, since everybody's posting, I want to post as well. And if someone knows what GFX-card that will give the most responsive Windows-feeling, please let me know. And what's the point of the 300mHz RAM? Does it feel faster or what? CPU: AMD AthlonXP 1800 (and then some OC) MEM: 512 MB 133mHz GFX: Geforce 440MX (and then a lot of OC) AUD: SB Live! Value HDD: 2x 128GB 720
It seems that the WinCusto browser corrupts the downloads. Also, they appear to go ten times as fast as regular downloads. And 100kb/s on my modem is a little too much. Guess it is a bug. Anyone want to fix it? <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/sb.gif" border=0 ALIGN="absmiddle" ALT="Powered by SkinBrowser!
Well, my WinStyles feel a bit flakey. It crashes when applying a skin with links in it. Guess it will be fixed in the future, somehow...
I wan't the sliders to be skinnable, the ones in the volume controls, you know? Also I want a way to skin the explorer bars, optionally by linking to a shellstyle.dll. And font loading as well.
