Reply to Preview of new Stardock download store / updater in Personal Computing Stardock Forums

I knew nothing about this and renewed my subscription to Object Desktop only to find out Impulse/Gamestop is no longer supported, sorry been away, (literally), for awhile. So does this mean that I have to wait now for this to update both my Object Desktop subscription renewal and subsequently the apps associated with it or do I DL the other apps separately in the meantime through http://download.stardock.com/ ? Thanks in advance.

Been here for quite awhile and it's still one of the very few web sites I visit in a regular basis. I hope it's still here in the years to come, I think it will but at the end of the day, the only thing you can bank on is that things will change. I'm not to worried about it, new blood's not a bad thing, but it's up to Stardock to keep and attract the talent that keeps this site great. aoeking2 ...not sure how or why a lot of folks miss this feature but you can do what your talking about with OD Plus..not sure about the standard version,,, This Dock - Add - New Custom Flyout Menu . One you have created your new Flyout menu right click on its icon and select Dock Entry Properties. Then, once you have the Dock Entry Properties screen up select the Custom Menu

Looking forward to the update, I have been using OD Plus for years now and it's become an invaluable tool on my desktop. Thanks for the update and ignore the whiners [e digicons]XO[/e] , they will always find something to whine about. Object Dock Plus does currently allow you to create sub-menus. Click ..this dock, add, new fly-out menu. Been using it for years this way and it works really well. Just make sure that after you create your new fly-out menu that you select the "custom menu" radio button from within the properties of that dock and select add to add a sub dock object, example Word, Excel etc...

As has been posted on numerous occasions, it would be really nice to see this app working on 64 bit and also to have the ability to save your menu/layout settings. I really like this app but can't use currently. Hope a resolution comes sooner rather than later. ;)

As an update to my previous post... it seems to crash after the front end GUI loads and crashes when the cursor preview window begins animating the preview cursor. Also, I realized that I was wrong about any updates, I did update my Vista 64 display driver for my nVida 8800 GTS to the latest rev. .. 8.15.11.8585.

This version crashes for me after it loads. I have installed, uninstalled and re-installed 3 times with same result. Previous version was fine. Running Vista 64... no changes to my system between versions.

Hmm, well I'm glad to see this is out but I'm just a little confused. I have Stardock Central, Impulse and now, if I could figure out where to get OD09 I would DL it to see which of these I want to use. I am a OD subscriber but I don't see a link for OD09 in either Central or Impulse. I'm guessing the servers are jammed about now.

Really, very sad news indeed. I have to agree with Jafo on his comments about it being about diversity augmented by differing view points and philosophies. It's a shame that there is no recourse to make this a much less viable venture for those with way to much time on their hands.
