[quote who="WebGizmos" reply="140" id="2690833"]Here's my view on this. Ultimately the end decision on how this will be handled falls at the feet of those creating the skins. How that decisions works out and effects sales won't be known until it's implemented. As far as this piracy thing anyone would have to agree it's an uphill battle. It's sort of like the battle anti virus developers have every day...build a better mouse trap and some clown is already building a better mouse. If

[quote who="Jafo" reply="129" id="2690705"] Yes it's a fact of life that the internet is the home/haven of piracy and IP theft and ID fraud. It's also the home of paedophilia rings. Let's accept them as well as...."you get rid of one site...what's the point...another will spring up in its place". Both are pursued. Both 'regenerate'. It is a valid comparison. Nowhere did I equate their level of criminality or social abhorrence...

With that said, I wouldn't say this site is "one of many which will come and go." When I read that, I threw a fit like a little girl and cried and ran into my room and locked the door. Why waste time trying to avoid piracy, when those people were never going to support you anyway. yeah sfc is what i meant..lol
I think i got it fixed.. thanks for all the help guys. I did an afc /scannow this morning and it found 2 files and corrected them, rebooted and all is working well now. Thanks again.
yeah, it probably wasn't asked because it's in my details in the first post :P
yeah it was through impulse. I didn't run any cleaner program but i guess i could, i remember a few admins around here saying that it's a useless step as uninstalling and reinstalling is sufficient, but who knows.
only stardock products, iconpackager etc.. I have a modded uxtheme.dll file so that i'm able to use custom msstyles, however that would have no bearing on this issue as i've had the same modded file forever and WB used to work fine. So i'm really at a loss here, I don't know how to make WB usable again.
Nah it's not a hard drive issue, Aero as well as other msstyles work perfectly fine in win7, i've tried several in fact after this happened with WB today. It's most definitely a WB issue, or something causing WB to act like this, but 100% not a hard drive issue.
i'm not really sure what you mean by the default gui. I open WB7.. choose the skin and click apply. The skin DOES apply correctly, everything looks as it should, but when i open an explorer window (computer, docs etc..) i get a skinned window, but blank with the timer and HD light never ending as if it's doing something. I would post a screenshot but at the moment i have it uninstalled, until i figure out what to do with it. I didn't think a screenshot was necessary be
SO i've had WB7 installed for a while, got all the latest updates thru impulse but haven't used WB in quite some time. So i loaded up impulse today, didn't show any updates so i thought i'd give it a try again. Loaded up a random win7 skin, then tried to open an explorer window. It opened up completely blank with the timer going, and the hard drive light would continuously be working. So i waited figuring it was just gonna take a few seconds cause i haven't loaded it i
Ok so this has been ongoing since i installed impulse months ago. Whenever i see a new update for windowblinds i click update, it downloads, extracts etc.. then it will say installing and it will stay there indefinitely until i'm forced to close the application. In turn this will cause the verification of my install to fail, although the application will work if i verify the install it says it's not installed correctly. Believe me when i say that i have left impulse go for h
