I was wondering a bit, if Gauss item, when it is gonna get fixed, meaning, be buildable again, (I saw AI was able to build it) whether it will be also be buildable more than 1 piece at a time. I hope it remains
is there a logic to it that you have more 'Gauss-Gauss' slugs it gets even more pen and damage ? ('Super-heavy') I guess not, but if we get a limit like most other weapon upgrades get, like with missile aura, range not stacking, ship like Kol, that either goes for a beam for offense, or fusillade plus gauss focus (with autoloader) Exp stacking no longer is possible, so I was wondering if Gauss gets the same nerf.
If it does get the nerf, then I do not see a reason as to why it should not benefit from Gauss defense turret upgrades like Ragnarov did in SoaSE:R. That meant rate of fire boost and range boost 12% just like the missiles. (while it wasnt THAT much compared to the new independent gauss turrets, 8 fixed and 12 turreted I think)
Ragnar with 8 gauss upgrades would not be as efficient as 7 with autoloader, but +200% gauss damage and 120+240 penetration, 360 total, would make for something ...
I guess broken op. Especially if the stacking dps bonus per kill starts working again on Ragnarov (as of last patch it does not seem to work, for example the item for Vasari that grants +125% phase buff duration from 6 min to ??? does not add anything, the item doesnt work, research that grants cheaper excavation doesnt do anything afaik, no cost decrease at least, Vasari fortress should use turrets so it doesnt all concentrate on 1 target right? None visible so far)
With say combat repair system, autoloader, 2 gauss upgrades, 6-9 lv kol with fusillade, autoloader, 180 pen aoe with big damage can eat through groups of units pretty well. With only 1 gauss rounds upgrade, the dps potential vs hardened targets drops.
(SoaSE:R Kol had ability to snipe targets through shield bypassing mitigation, here the damage skill is beam instead, no shield bypass like phase missile, Gauss took the place of 'Gauss Railgun' weapon on old kol, yes, systems were different, armor was generic etc)
With just 1 gauss item you get still not too bad 25% dmg and 150 from 120 pen, meaning, almost equal to javelin missiles.(160 to 150) But otherwise nothing really special. If 1 limit is there, you could take a look if it doesnt need buffin'. Still, that item on a Kol, vs a Ragnarov despite the same cost has much greater effect.(now there are targets that can reach in excess of 1000 armor albeit temporarily - nanite armor from carrier on uparmored fortress)
Anyway, I hope the new patch that fixes lots of problems that appeared in the last patch will be fixed and that it arrives somewhat soonish
if possible that is. The new reimagined Vas faction is pretty cool. I do somewhat miss the rankulas with those funny balls doing all sorts of support, not missing the corsev boarding ship though
