Gal Civ 3

Two player capable

I would like to know if there is any way for the game to support two players from the same computer,. I know other space strategy games have had that feature . This way my bud and I can each control our own civ while taking turns against the AI

The game does not currently support Hot-Seat multiplayer.

No, but I would like to see hotseat.

You know what I'd dearly love?  The ability of MacOS and Windows to support multiple simultaneous graphical users.

You know, like we had back in 1984 with the release of the XWindow system.

It's trivial to put multiple video cards into a modern system, and likewise trivial to hook up multiple keyboard/mouse setups.

Windows has the RDesktop/VNC hackish crap, but it doesn't really work for anything other than very basic graphical display, and still requries a full hardware system to run the RDC or VNC client on.

It makes no sense to require a full-fledged PC on every desktop, and even the "thin client" thingies are pretty much a full PC anymore.

It's ridiculous that the Mac/PC world doesn't have this at all.

I have complained about this lack as well. The devs have repeatedly stated hot seat will never happen. Most common rational proffered by devs is 'it's hard'. I also have a five seat home lan but galciv  doesn't support lan play. The only multiplayer MUST go through Steam. I could, but will refrain from, speculate regarding Steam.
