lol all worlds get precursor colonization events

Pretty funny.  Reloaded a game i'm 144 turns into, playing Iridium Corp.  Colonized a few white planets - precursor events only.  Normally I'd play the hell out of this except the selections that interest me are almost always malevolent and it's like the first game in ages where i'm doing bene/prag.

Never too late for a change of tune i guess.

last game I played (after a reload) I had the event 'Public Education' keep firing, sometimes every 3-5 turns. Kept persisting until I shut down the game and restarted. I think it fired 6 times before I shut the game down.

 

Only time I've ever seen something like that happen, but sounds somewhat similar.

@pshaw - I'll submit a ticket, but the news is worse now.  It's just started happening in the middle of an ongoing game, without reloading.  Really ticked off this time because this is a beautiful map!  ugh.  About 110 turns in this time.  Both Iridium Corp, both insane maps.  

edit: On reload, I don't seem to be getting colonization events at all on this second save.  Hrm. 

 

@Syntax_VI - heh that would be obnoxious.  I'll try reloading a few times to see if it actually fixes  itself but  somehow i'm doubtful in this case.

This has happened to me as well; after I've colonized about 30 planets, any further planet I colonize is either a precursor planet, or gets no event at all. Weird stuff.

This just started happening to me too, around 60 colonies.  Not complaining, giving up 3 normal colony events for 1 that gives a weapon or defense bonus is fine by me.

FWIW, I get this as well.  It seems to be happening around the mid 30s for me.  I either get a Precourser World event or nothing at all.  Sometimes it randomly sorts itself out and I get back on track for a while.  But it then starts back up again after a few more colonies.

I usually run a heavily modified game (including mods for planet traits), so I'm not sure what use a savefile/ticket would be.  Still wanted to chime in that I've been seeing this as well.

I have a question about the precursor events.  The ones that give a bonus to defenses or weapons... is that for all ships including future ones, or just current ships?  And does the bonus stack?  3x beam bonus is nasty, especially once you start hitting 100+ beams on a single ship with 100% take down.

 

Is the bonus applied prior to the random roll, or after?

Same issue here... guess GC3 goes back on the shelf till a patch or 1.7.

I don't experience this at all.

As always, I get PC events when I colonize a PC planet and normal event when I colonize a normal planet. 

However, from what I am reading this is happening with colonization that would be very late for the large galaxy I play in since all planets are gone rather early except for extreme ones.

I was under the weather for a couple of days and then had to catch up on a few things.  I'm sending in a ticket in a bit (with the save file), albeit on game that is HEAVILY modded. :)

 

I'll then disable all my mods and play a unmodded fgame and see if the same thing occurs.  Might take a while though to recreate.

EDIT:::::

Bah.  The save game I had set up that was demonstrating this problem (giving a PW benefit) is now instead giving nothing at all.  Different facet of the same bug.  But I like things to be consistent, so I am going to try to recreate this bug on a completely unmodded game with the fresh new version of the patch to try to eliminate as many variables as possible.

If I can't recreate it by tonight/tomorrow, I'll stick with the original save file (which was part of a game created during the beta testing for 1.6).

Started a fresh game with all mods turned off.  Played off and on during the weekend and hit the exact same all Precursor World or nothing-at-all colonization event bug as described in this thread after my 35th colony.  Just finished sending a ticket describing the problem in detail along with a save file to SD.

It is for all current anf future ones and yes it stacks.  Some are bugged; e.g says it gives 5% boost but when you look you got +.05 to base instead

What 0.05 is 5%.

0.05 is added to the base which then gets percentage bonuses.  5% is one of those bonuses.  It makes more difference if you have other bonuses to apply to your base.  However, percentage bonuses applied to .05 additional base won't be a huge difference.  Still, it should be done correctly.

as erischild said the .05 is added not taken as a % So say you had 20 attack, instead of now having 21 (+5% or 20) you get 20.05 .  Makes a BIG difference later on when your attack is higher as you research precursor teks (some get as high is 20% IIRC

Just happened to me again after the March 1 opt in, added the save to my ticket.
