Race Populations Unique for Each Civlization for Invasion

What do people think about the possibility of having the civilizations being unique for each planet one takes over.  So when the Drengin invade and enslave an Altarian or Human colony they'll actually have the Altarian/Human populations on those planets and can enslave them, assimilate them or kill them off...

Kind of what Master of Orion 2 had but with the option to enslave parts of a population and relocate them to planets to be enslaved on so our "superior" race can thrive on their own worlds.  I know this could interfere with the planet invasion concepts but the population number could instead take the effect of having a percentage of the population be the defense for a planet than the entire population (which is killed off when you invade).

This could also make the effect of poison cloud attacks actually kill off the population (depending on your play style).  So in general this could have the effect of a higher level of control for your empire instead of it being the one population number for everyone.

Just a concept (I still like the previous system but want to see what other people think of this as well)

"Battlefield Earth"  Beware the slaves will go from the middle ages to the digital age overnight and over throw the evil Drengin Empire :D

To be honest your question is to vague. I can visualise the slavery kind of, but what r we suposed to do about. If our planet screen was more like civilizations city screen, or at least kind of like how their population works then we could implement slavery by taking population. This would require a slaver ship. Maybe the citizens could be tax collectors, scientists, artists, or workers. Then slaves would be only workers. This would have to have some of the population surviving after invasion.

We could say that a newly invaded or defected planet would have a different status than one that was part of the empire. I think that slaves should be cheaper than everyone else.

Sorry if my posts don't make full sense (after non-stop 13 hours shifts for 2 weeks)

But basically a mini system for the Master of Orion 2 population.  While having slaver ships would be nice having the idea of populations that we can invade would be nice.  then the number of the defensive population can be a calculation based off of the planet's population and with new factors of the percentage of slaves versus other races.

Then maybe if we could have the slavery factor that allows us to over-populate prison worlds or slavery worlds (to some extents) but at the cost of the enslaved population dying off partially.

No idea really just the concept.  ANy recommendations or fixes to this would be appreciated.  with or without I'm sure this should still be a great game

To be honest, I just want a system where my 100% good race doesn't have to, for all intents and purposes, commit genocide every time it invades a planet.

Frogboy said in this interview, that they are replacing alignments with ideologies. So, no Good vs Evil anymore.

That's not really my point. I just think it's kind of ridiculous that I can be playing the Altarians, with a generally pacifist policy, pursuing a diplomatic victory, and still (for all intents and purposes) have no choice but to slaughter the entire population of any planet I do invade. Introducing different populations could help fix the cognitive dissonance.

If you really wanted to roleplay, you could do the all-influence-flip conquest strategy. Although it is ironically easier with an evil civ, due to the MCC.

The population value is not the actual population, but the amount of citizens paying taxes to your empire, these citizens don't necesarily have to belong to your race, but slaves will definitely not pay taxes, so won't be counted as part of your population, and after a conquest initially you will only get taxes from the occupation forces you sent to that planet. The Good races would slowly integrate the imprisoned former population into their own society, or ship them off to worlds belonging to their empire via a neutral third party, or during peace-time.

I know all that, but since it's mostly a handwave to explain why population grows so fast, it's not really that satisfying an explanation.
