Stalked by Bacco The Begger

The random event of stumbling upon Baco the Beggar, a lv 5 warrior hero who drunkenly challenges you to a dual never fails to happen to me.

Kingdom or empire, in the early stages of the game the event happens. He is actually quite tough at lv5 and wins fairly often with hilarious results. Twice hes beaten me and roamed the world, destroying towns in a drunken rampage.

But seriously, Ive run into him every game without fail. Anyone else have this problem or is it just me?

80% of the time here.

i steal his hammer and sacrifice him.

yeah, i got him in every game so far. juat like the plague and the blood season - they don't seem very random to me - i get them all the time.

bacco can be pretty tough, but if you can defeat him, he's a pretty decent scout with his innate 3 move range (and since he's a champ, he can also loot treasure tiles and unguarded monster lairs in AI territory unlike trained scout/explorer units)

I get Bacco and the Plague every single game, always rather early on. I've never seen the blood season people talk about.

I play with random events on the highest setting.

Edit: If Bacco beats you 1v1 you can just grab your army and stomp on him after and he still joins.

Good to know its not just me.

A couple of times I was experimenting with a life/earth summoner which led to some funny Bacco beatdowns. Bacco would drunkenly challange me to a one on one only to get mauled by a summoned bear.

everything you need is any every turn damaging spell like shadowbolt and dagger for +3 initiative for easy win.

I've gotten him every game so far.  I have yet to defeat him in the initial 1v1.  I don't think it's possible.

I'm assuming that they are showing up in every game right now for testing purposes, and that it won't be that way in the final release.

I wouldn't mind Bacco scaling to turn level.

Bacco is the new Janusk. ;P

Edit: *sigh* I'm not even sure that was his name and the more I think about the more I think it's wrong. The annoying guy in WoM that always popped next to you on like turn 2.

That's him alright.

I get baco in each game too. But i have only seen plague once and never seen the blood season.

I'm pretty sure Bacco is supposed to happen every game since he always seems to pop up at the same time. Always seem to get the Plague at some point as well, but have yet to see the Blood Moon/Season that apparently makes everyone declare war on everyone else.

Bacco is stupid event, it's 100% win for prepared player, 50\50 for combat focused hero and 100% failure for support sovereight.

(due idiotic combat, you can miss 5 times in row and die ever if you have everything superior

in case of failure you just lose half of your mana and 5 turns, if you reject you lose this champion completely.

it will be fun if bacco NEVER join player, never get killed and come again and again with more powerfull army items and just attack, not duel.

I like the event and Bacco, but I do absolutely agree with the comment it's "100% win for prepared player, 50\50 for combat focused hero and 100% failure for support sovereign."

The one endearing quality about Bacco is that if he joins you he doesn't ask for a salary.

bacco happens in most games. When i lose, I send an army after hime, right away, and he ends up joining the faction. Oh and he gets paid in beer... not gildars.  Nice

This is weird. I have NEVER gotten him. I play with "less frequent" random events.

I do get that guy that gives you a riddle in almost every game though.

every single time... :(

I've taken to having my first champion walking with the army behind my sovereign (alone or with a scout), and after the inevitable misses in tacticall combat for the 1-1 fight, the army roflstomps Bacco.

he is so frequent I kinda feel like it is a cheat so I just kill him now as I was tired of all these champions with nothing to use them for.

I play with events at default cause I would prefer not to get him and the plague every single game..  But it seems like it if I do not.

I usually shove him in a developing city for the unrest boost.

He's gone Turbo... :troll:

I've never seen him either.

I get Bacco in almost every game I play (random events maxed), as well as plague. Never seen this blood thingy, but get meteors and "the world is getting more dangerous" pretty regularly.

I've beaten Bacco easily every time, but I have been chiefly playing a customized Kingdom of Tarth, with an archery-focused Sovereign (heck, in my current game, my Sov is level 17, highest of the bunch = P). As a result, I usually keep Bacco around as a melee champion, more a meat shield for high-iniit enemies than anything else, though = P

If Bacco shows up in a random event, the first thing the event should do is query the level of your sovereign, and then build Bacco to match...

I've started about 5 games of LH so far and have stumbled upon him in all but 1. Every time he owns my sovereign pretty fast. In the previous game I used a bottle of fire to take him out in the first round and when he joined me he was a beefy find that early in the game.

Only seen Blood Season once back when I was playing FE. Got it pretty early on, like maybe turn 50, and then didn't get another event for the rest of the game, which lasted into turn 500-something. I had random events set to the highest level too.
