Should Heroes Be Unique?

I think it breaks immersion to see the exact same hero in three different armies.  I'm not sure it matters game play wise, but do you think that once a hero is recruited that no one else should have access to the very same (cloned?) hero?

Yea, I do think they should be unique.

Yes, that's a huge problem.

SOme things like Bacco the Beggar are probably hardcoded to appear in every game right now though for testing purposes.

I'd also like to see some randomisation or unique levelling trees for heroes.

I think a hero should start at level 2 with a selected path and to make every hero unique they should get one random spellbook and one random profession:

- Air apprentice

- Earth apprentice

- Fire apprentice

- Water apprentice

- Life apprentice OR Death apprentice

- Warlock

- General

- Armorer

- Hunter

- Beastlord

THIS!! For an expansion that is named "legendary heroes" , it sure seems to make all the heroes blend and the same :P

I don't want random, I just want "more".  More meaningful choices.  Move some of the choices of the class to the general tab.  Maybe give minimal access access to a second tree, so maybe I want to make my guy a warrior, but also have access to a couple necromancy skills from the mage path?  Or my commander also good with a sword?

I love the new design for leveling, but I think that their needs to be more choices.

There's a limited number of heroes but you can have a lot of factions. So they should be unique but only as long as it is possible.

Agreed. Wouldn't mind seeing more heroes added to the lot to keep things unique, though, even if it involves nothing more than changing out weapons, appearances, and creating new backstories.

How about you can always pick traits from any tree when you level, but you only get the innate bonuses for the first tree you pick. So if you're an Assassin that wants more magic you have to use up a trait pick just unlocking the Mage tree, but now you've got free reign.

So you suggesting cosmetic differences make each champion unique? What's the point of that? Again I repeat for a expansion that aims to focus on champions it sure makes them pretty much interchangeable.

Not just choices but different choices for different champions you get (which is a kind of luck). A brute warrior type champion you get no matter how hard you try shouldnt be able to level to a ultimate mage.

The randomness here would lie in the type of champion you get to pick, but once you picked (or before that) , you can see in the trait tree what is possible, what isn't.

For instance, Champion X would be a defender type champion or a warrior type champion, but could never be the rest. And even within the defender and warrior traits, the trait tree might be a bit different from another Champion Y defender. But within that set trait tree you get to pick where to specialise.

I agree more choice and also I think pick one from 3, not one from 2.

In addition heroes should be unique in each game with no two factions having the same hero
