When is the Stardock version of Rebellion going to be released???

When is the DRM free or at least Non-Steam Version of Rebellion going to be released, I have a friend that can't play it on steam because no matter how many times he reinstalls the game it just won't work.

And according to him, the bug which is known remains unfixed.

There are no plans to ever release a non-Steam version of Sins: Rebellion.

They are bring back SDC, but Rebellion is a steamworks game, so it doesn't matter how they distribute it, in the end you must always use steam.

I think the plan is that for versions of Sins before Rebellion, you will be able to use SDC instead of Impulse.

90 % of all sales are from steam shop..... o_O

And while I seriously doubt the wisdom of buying a game on Steam from an economic point of view Steam is a gold mine for Stardock. It makes no sense for them to go without Steam because of that.

I know your feelings.... and I share them.... but they economist in me has to agree with Stardock decision.

I never said they should go without steam, but also activate the steam purchase on SDC, my friend is having issues with steamworks and cannot play as a result. the game either locks up or flat out crashes to desktop, he has researched it and even talked to support, it is a "KNOWN" issue that remains unfixed.

It doesn't work like that.  It uses Steamworks so the game has to be downloaded/updated via Steam.
