Planets need a buff

Planets need to do more damage, I can't seem to think of a situation where I have seen a planet kill a titan, and that is messed up.  The gravity well should suck titans into the planet, causing the planet and titan to disappear from the map and then planets could actually say stuff to titans that get too close to the well like:

thoughts? concerns? this is serious business.. serious serious business.

I see a problem though...how would you know what direction the planet is facing?  I mean, they don't have lazer turrets that make it obvious which way is forward...maybe planets should have an accuracy penalty since it's too hard to tell which direction they're facing...

Nah, planets should have powerful side and rear turret banks as well. Just to compensate. Buff them.

But then they might accidently shoot the space elevators, and that would just look really cheap...I think we can expect better...

For the record, when making weapon effects spawn from a planet, they do spawn with a definite orientation.  I haven't bothered to figure out what that orientation is, but I'd assume that it's the same direction for all planets.  I'd assume either North or East while in Galaxy Forge.

The devs need to do this. We have it in Distant Stars.

I have it in a soon-to-be-released mod as well which is how I discovered the above.  Surface-to-orbit missiles.

As a result, if you fire missiles from a planet, you'll see that in one direction they'll come out straight from the surface while in another, they'll come from an angle because they must have launched in another direction and had to turn around while still inside the planet.

It's fixed then, we just need to play modded pirate only comp stomps.

Qu4r is being nice in response to a snarky comment?  Why haven't I been told about the impending giant meteor strike?
