Why is invalid gamestate problem more common then ever now?

I thought this crap was fixed in 1.3

Just wondering if anyone else is experiencing more invalid gamestates then ever since 1.3? As soon as one person leaves he takes the whole game with him. It used to be limited between fridays and saturdays thanks to the bug that Ptarth found however, what the hell, it is happening every single day now (Well from what I've seen so far).

The bug that I found only applied in a relatively few number of cases, that is only when

  • At least one player was using the Russian localized language version AND
  • The Forces of Light gained flag control AND
  • The Forces of Light lost flag control

As you can see, very infrequent. I can't tell you why you are seeming to experience more invalid game states.

Could it be that people are playing without updating their game? It seems like that would cause an invalid gamestate in the first few seconds though. I don't know if you would actually be able to join a game without updating, but I suppose it's possible if you leave your game up.

Nah Ptarth, I'm getting gamestate errors upon a russian player (Or who I assume to be russian) leaving the game. No map control and no lost flag take place, it is just triggered on leave.

This is fixed with the recent patch though.

It sure is nice to be able to say that.

True ;). Hopefully there will be another one somewhere down the road.

The other morning (right after I installed the patch) I had three invalid states in a row within 3 minutes of the game starting. The same russian player was in every game, I can't remember his name, but he has very good english.

He suggested that it occurred each time someone played their first game with the patch. I have no way of verifying that. But it had nothing to do with flags, I can testify to that.

Yeah this sounds like some players with unpatched versions were somehow able to join the lobby of others.

Players haven't updated their hax yet.

From what I saw in the non-executable files, the solution that GPG chose to implement was to update their Russian Language Localization file (it now contains Cyrillic and English). It is possible something is going wrong with that, but I'm currently favoring the idea that people are able to join without updating. I'd need more information before I can make more ungrounded speculation.

I've had an increase in crashes on this build.  I'm doing a fresh install of DG now.

Can someone who hasn't updated try logging in and hosting a game? For the sake of science

I've played like 4 or 5 games only with the new patch, but I haven't had an issue.
